The soldering iron lasted about 20 minutes before it tripped my mains circuit breaker. After letting it cool down I tried again, it tripped within a minute. Something very wrong with this dangerous appliance. Besides that major flaw, the lead is way too short for practical use unless you stand right next to a mains outlet. In the 20 minutes it did work, the tips would not hold any solder - it beaded off like water droplets on wax. I have to say, this was not a good product and despite bring cheap, was a waste of money and probably dangerous.

Edit update :- got a full refund so it gains a star for quick refund x where do i begin, .... so over all the kit is great has everything you need to do some soldering and comes in a lovely case. But .... it has now stopped working not even soldering after 10 min of using it. Now when it was working it worked and i loved that it has the temp control and the switch to turn it off next to you instead of pulling the plug ( great safety feature ) but i am disappointed that it wont solder at all :( now. i am mid solder, of some wiring to finish my project and now i have to go buy another one so i can finish it off. I will seek a refund though as it is only a few days since i got it. Just be careful with this one i may of had a bad batch, so over all if this worked i would have given 5 stars but lost due to stop working.

The heat never transferred to the tip properly so the flux wasn’t melting, but the iron was torching the PCB board I was working on. When I melted the solder wire, the tip melted into it and deformed. Do NOT use this on any expensive equipment.

Item arrived as described, except the "on/off" switch shown in the listing was missing. Seller responded quickly and provided a partial refund, which I appreciate. The product works fine, the tips are a bit thin but hoping will last a while, but honestly the listing should be updated to avoid confusion for future buyers.

After only using it once, the tip that I used is now deformed.

Works nicely, one problem though is the 5x additional tips don't seem to fit the iron. Disappointing.
