All is not as it seems!
I contacted Grohe spare parts department because at Grohe they prefer their customers to sort out problems by using their web page! What I thought was missing in the box when it arrived was the chrome pull down hose, the same as in their product photo's. It wasn't there, but there was a hose that was obviously rubber with a material coating, I presumed this should go into the chrome flexi hose to prevent the rubber from kinking when using the pull down hose. The spare parts department said it will be inside the C spout! WRONG there was nothing in there. I emailed Grohe customer services asking how could I obtain a chrome metal flexi hose to protect the rubber fabric coaster inner tube? I was surprised by their reply :- there isn't a metal chrome flexi hose any longer they changed it last August!!! Why couldn't they tell the customers this? Put a note on the product info? Place a note on their web pages? Even change the photo's of the nice shiny chrome flexi hose? Any of those would be logical surely? Or is the public meant to know these things? There is one reason why I thought the rubber and material hose should be covered is :- it looks naff! Micky mouse! cheap and nasty? YES to all of these. My previous kitchen tap was a Grohe K4 it lasted 10 years before it began leaking and their tough wearing chrome shower head -: the chrome peeled off the pull down shower head as its plastic, I hadn't realised at the time that it was such an expensive tap. I'm now stuck with this tap because when I say leaked I mean 500ml per minute and we had to live like this for two weeks because we had to keep sending various Grohe kitchen pull down hose's back because we thought the flexi metal chrome pull down covering missing, even Amazon were stumped by this problem. All I can say is I now know why no one in my area of Scotland stocks this brand there is no communication from the company to inform perspective customers, they're very expensive and at nearly £400 for a kitchen tap one would expect it to last a lifetime not 10 years.
