NikwaxWax Cotton Proof Neutral x 300 Ml

I bought an expensive Fjallraven cotton jacket which needed some sort of waterproof treatment. I've used Nikwax stuff for years on proper waterproof jackets so it was a no brainer.It took a while to wipe this all in and let it dry properly but the first time it rained it was beading off nicely. After the first downpour and after it dried, there were little white bits all over the material. Whether this was because of the coating that came with the jacket I don't know so hopefully that won't happen to you as it kind of looked like little bits of washing powder all over it. It has rained since and they have largely got though that intense beading run off of the water wasn't so obvious. The jury is out on this one at the moment as i'll need to test it in more rainy weather as time goes on. I'll update this review it if turns out to be less impressive than I had hoped.The real negative is the smell. I don't doubt that some of these chemicals aren't going to smell good but it didn't go away even after it had dried. I recommend that you do the initial application outside as to be honest it stinks bad. I think it took a couple of weeks of wearing the jacket in dry weather before I stopped noticing the smell too much though I put it on a couple of months back and you can still sort of smell it if you get your nose up really close. Nothing is perfect and this is probably just one of those things...

Have re proofed a Seasons rain coat, have sprayed with water and looks like its worked. Awaiting to see if as good in the rain

Bought to rewax an old much loved jacket! Very easy to use.

As with all Nikwax products, this is an excellent product, used to reproof wax cotton coats and drover's coats and hats.

Worked well on my wax jacket. I gave the coat a wipe over and then sprayed this on. It certainly seems to have waterproofed - there's been plenty of rain to trial it in !! Would recommend to all.
