I bought these pencils for my high schooler who needs this precise pencil for art and other lessons. They are strong and reliable-coming ready sharpened which is a bonus for lazy school children who have lost their pencil sharpener or can't be bothered to sharpen pencils. A good price and what I love about them is that there are so many of them.I like to use Amazon for delivery as I can buy everything on the school list in one place, we live in the sticks so it is great to shop online.The manufacture of these pencils goes to amazing lengths to make sure their pencils are perfectHere is the breakdown of how the pencils are made. It’s really quite an interesting 10 step process:1. Incense Cedar logs are cut into pencil blocks.2. Pencil blocks are cut into pencil slats.3. Pencil slats are treated with wax and stain.4. A machine cuts grooves into the slats to accept the writing core.5. The writing core – made from a mixture of graphite and clay – is placed into the grooves.6. A second grooved slat is glued on to the first, making a 'slat sandwich'.7. The slat sandwich is machined into the pencil shape.8. Individual pencils are cut from the sandwich and are sanded down for smoothness.9. Each pencil is painted. Then, a recess is cut to accept the ferrule (the metal ring that holds the eraser to the pencil).

I do a lot of crossword puzzles and these pencils are the best. They keep their sharpness long after sharpening and never break. I've tried other brands but will always stick with these.

Standard size pencils that are affordable and writes well. The eraser works fine without smudging. Sharpens decently with handheld sharpeners (occasionally lead does break) however no problems with electric ones. My daughter needed these skinner pencils for third grade and I debated whether to get the popular Ticonderoga brand or take a chance on these cheaper ones. Almost comparable to the leading brand except these are a tad bit skinner and lighter in weight if that's an issue with pencil choice. I would buy these again once we run out.

My husband needed pencils (LOTS of pencils) for his classroom, so I went on a hunt for some quality pencils that don't break the bank. These Write Dudes pencils are a steal for the quality. Nice cedar wood, smooth lead, and the erasers actually work.Far better than the other cheap pencils available these days.Note: The 10-count and 24-count Amazon listings are actually for the same pencils (just the quantity is different), in case you're looking for a different quantity, or if the price for one is better than the other when you read this.I ordered both listings thinking they were slightly different variants from the same company (since the product photos are different). However, the pencils I received were identical, so it seems the packaging has just been updated since one of the listings had its photos taken. Good product, American company with American materials !

Pencils are just not made the same as they're were when I was a kid. Ever since my kids started school we've had issues when crappy pencils. My biggest issue with all the other pencils we've tried is trying to sharpen them. I might succeed on the first attempt but more off than not it would take a few tries to actually get a point. I hated trying to sharpen a pencil and pulling it out to check the point only to find the lead broken and having to stay all over again. I really hated thinking I had gotten a good point and when you tried to write the lead tip fell out the second it touched paper.So I've been trying different brands in hopes of finding a decent pencil. I found that in these pencils. You can feel the difference. These are wood and that makes a huge difference. The lead is also a better quality. They sharpen easily and write better than anything else we've tried.

Buy them cause they are American made. I don't find they sharpen well in a standard fixed angle razor blade style manual sharpener. I use them for construction and use a knife to sharpen them.I've never gotten them to sharpen with the nice ribbons you get from others.

I bought a package of these to use for better precision during woodworking. These fit the bill well. They are high quality, sharpen to a nice point and feel good in the hand. When I was a kid I never thought that it would be so hard to find nice pencils, but alas things change. Now I buy these.
