I bought this L-Tryptophan capsules thinking they would help with sleep but has done nothing for me. I have been taking these the past 6 nights, taking ages to get to sleep and have only be able to sleep for no more than 4 hours. I have come to the conclusion that the dose is far too low and information about this product is lacking, no information on whether to take it on an empty stomach, just after a meal or an hour before bed. The only thing I liked about this product was the fact that it did not seem to contain any magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, maltodextrin and others, as so many of these products seem to have. After reading that the dose should actually be from 500mg -1000mg to be of any benefit, I've decided to double the dose tonight. For maximum benefits, Tryptophan should also be taken with a magnesium with B6 supplement. I opted for a Marine Magnesium supplement and an L-Theanine supplement that I already had been taking. I probably should have gone with a both supplements advertised with it but I still say the dose is far too low anyway. I have read that others have been helped by taking this supplement but maybe they have gone without sleep for short periods at a time. Having suffered from insomnia for many years, I am doubtful whether doubling the dose will actually help, nevertheless I will try it for the next 7 nights to see.Will keep you updated on my results.

I've found the product highly effective at helping me sleep and gain all the downstream benefits. I've noticed and increase in vivid dreams whilst taking it but wake up feeling like i've slept more deeply.

That's always a plus for me. I have really bad insomnia and this has helped a little, but nowhere near what I was hoping for which is why I gave it three stars. Would've done 3 1/2 but that's not possible. The pills smell a little funny, but then pills tend to do that in general. Couldn't taste it when taking them though so yay for that. I'm still debating on if they're helping enough to order more or not - leaning towards doing so. Bottle was properly sealed. I LOVE the fact that there's no useless additives in the pills.
