Great for basics of mindfulness
This is a great book on the basics of mindfulness. I would highly recommend it to anyone venturing in to the world of mindfulness or meditation for the first time. As someone who has invested a lot of time into mindfulness techniques, therapy and meditation this book was very basic but a seriously great motivation for anyone new to these practices!

The Art of Mindfulness Explained
Jason Hemlock has distilled mindfulness into doeable steps. He defines mindfulness, delineates its history, explores whether or not mindfulness is right for you, explains the benefits and cautions, and then shows you how to put mindfulness into play in your life.If mindfulness exercises are too vague or challenging to do independently, several apps are suggested for guided assistance.Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy in person and on your own are discussed. The author has included mindfulness meditationsand exercises to assist your practice. He also differentiates the difference between mindfulness and meditation and how the two can be used hand in hand.As with any self-help book, commitment to the process is required. A one-time read-through will not give you the necessary mindfulness practice skills. However, I was impressed to notice that with a one-time read-through, I was paying attention to my thoughts, food, and surroundings in an intentional way. I believe the benefits of stress reduction and awareness of thoughts will result from deliberate practice.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Good read
I wanted to change my viewpoint from future me to present me. Having had too many demands needing to be met for family and life in general I wanted a bit of redirection. The book offers various alternatives to staying in the present.

This book helps me move into my own mindful journey
This is one of the better mindful journey books that I have read Moving through the idea of being mindful as a journey is a interesting perspective. I think I will utilize this book and the mindset behind it when I work with clients moving forward. While most books in this realm tend to just look at one area of the mindfulness whereas this book not only gives me the idea defined but it also points me to other resources and books to become better along my journey! I enjoyed reading through this and will likely read it several more times in order to better serve those around me and my clients in moving into their own journey.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A good read on mindfulness
I really enjoyed this book. I liked that it was almost a how to guide on mindfulness while reminding us, or rather informing us, that mindfulness is something we can practice everywhere. The book reminds the readers to have compassion for themselves, and that is something we often forget. I liked that the author detailed various practices for mindfulness in all aspects of our lives, showed us various breathing techniques, and even reminded us that we can have our coffees mindfully! It was just long enough to help me feel like I can start my mindfulness journey tomorrow and keep checking in along the way.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
