We did have carpet beetle (saw them) and I had treated the carpet with a spray and reduced the numbers observed to nil. However, I had seen some potential signs of carpet beetle (small black bits on the carpet and one item of clothing developed a hole) and wanted to identify whether I had a serious or slight problem. This unit seemed ideal. It arrived quickly and was easy to install. The main thing you have to do is remove the protective sheet off the sticky paper. You then press a button which is a small colour coded unit to show you how many weeks its been installed. I chose a position close to where I had seen the carpet beetle in the first instance. The first 2 weeks I caught nothing so suspected that it didn't work. Week 3, I caught one and nothing since. For me the jury is out on whether it really works. I did first see them after the winter in march - so if I see signs again next year I may possibly try it again and see what the results are like. My advice is you are thinking about buying the unit - give it a try if you want to see whether you have a problem but if you do have a problem consider an alternative that kills them like the spray and vacuum regularly.

I had serious doubts about buying this, but it was fo rmy Mother and she, well...rather insisted we give it a try..... DON'T. It doesn't work. DON'T be fooled by the tech nonsense. It doesn't work. Enough said.

Doesn’t smell at all (which is good) and definitely attracts both carpet beetles and moths. I’m impressed by it and it works really well.The indicator is easy to use and read, you just open the packaging, peel off the seal and press the button to start the countdown.

Put under tv stand. Caught one moth straight away but nothing else even though I was having problems. Won't buy again.
