This is a better hood than I had expected after reading reviews I was not sure if I wanted to take the chance. But leap I did and was pleasantly surprised. It is powerful and does a good job of removing smoke and odor. Even when grilling I had no problems with smoke or odor lingering. The lights are bright and illuminate the cooktop as well as the surrounding countertop.This hood replaced a microwave hood that didn't work at all. I need the 5-inch height being tall the extra space is great. it's mounted 32 inches above the cooktop. Even at this distance, it pulls the smoke away from the cook top effectively and provides great light.The only things I don't care for are the laser printed logo on the front but it is not a big enough deal for me to return it. Also, the screws that are provided are very small. I just used same sized screws just longer add a washer and nut to hold it in place.The install was a bit of a job but only because it's a bit tricky getting behind the fans to fasten the nuts and washer to the screw. You will need two people to install this heavy hood (not a job for one person). It comes with the plug attached and ready to go make sure you get the attachments for venting directly out.All in all its a nice hood does a good job on all settings without to much noise.

This exhaust hood is absolutely beautiful. I have worked construction for 33 years, and this is one of the best I have ever bought, installed, and used. The ONLY thing I can see that could be improved upon is the fact it is only 29.5 inches wide, and the standard cabinet is 30 inches. Most manufacturers make 30" hoods 29.89", so with this hood there will be a 1/4" gap on each side. It is not a big issue though as a 1/4" filler strip worked fine. Some homeowners may not have the tools to fabricate filler strips. This thing i whisper quiet on low and med, med-high and high is a little louder- but much less than my Broan 150cfm it replaced.

Great piece of machine. I would give it 5 stars except that when I first got it, plugged in outlet and test it and it was weak, turned out one of the fans wasn't turning. I followed the manual and fix it in 5 minutes and it ran great! I'm not sure if someone is not mechanically inclined would want to go through this. The hood is actually nicely packaged, the manual says because shipping impact the fan blade might get stuck and won't turn, so it's helpful they put that on the first page otherwise I might just return it and that's lots of hassle.Also as some other review stated, the screws came with the hood are too small, it probably will hold since the hood is lighter but I used 4 1" screws to hang it.I was a bit skeptical at first, as an trained EE I noticed the specs shows that it's a powerful hood (800 CFM) but only uses a fraction of power (less than 150W and 1A) compare to many other brand less powerful models, and it weights less than 30 lbs. I decided to give it a try based on some of the good review the folks posted, figured that the efficient motors could make the difference. But I'm glad it is great, strong suction, sleek line and design, good buy!

Not only did one of the two fans not function at all, this product has been installed and returned before. The unit was also slightly dented and slightly scratched. Now I have to deal with returning this unit, buying another and paying the installer AGAIN! My product was USED, 2nd hand, not NEW. I paid for a NEW product not a returned and rejected product. I was cheated and lied to.THE PRODUCT SHIPPED TO ME WAS USED, DAMAGED, AND BROKEN!!!This is another mass produced Chinese product that is labeled in China for different vendors to purchase and sell online.It is not conceivable a person could install this item alone. It took me and the professional installer 3 hours to get it installed. There is no template and getting up underneath this item to be able to see where the screws are to tighten them requires one person to lie on their back on the stove top and a second person to hold it in place. There are MANY things that can be done to have made this easier from the factory but its not made for ease of install its made to sell inexpensively.There is no damper so unconditioned air from outside pours in. The instructions nor the product description tells the consumer there is no damper. Most vents have dampers from the factory! I suppose since this item is made in China and sold under different names, like Proline, they do what they can to cut down on cost. But if you plan to sell a product like this without a damper you need to be up front about it so the customer or installer knows the have the proper necessary items on hand and so we do not have to make a trip to the big box store mid-install.The owners manual is inadequate. Dont rely on that for much help.I can not accurately comment on how loud the product is because only one of the 2 fans are functional. With one fan running and on its lowest speed (Q) you can carry on a conversation in the kitchen. With one fan working on speed setting 1 it becomes increasingly hard to carry on a conversation. I can imagine with 2 fans blowing it would be 2x as loud which means a conversation could not occur in normal inside voices. With one fan working on speed setting 1 the fan was able to paper towel up against the baffle. I think the fans are probably adequate but loud, as expected.This unit is made of very thin metal. This unit has EXTREMELY sharp edges. I cut myself twice on it and the installer did as well. I cut myself badly enough that there were small pools of blood on the stove top and floor. We had to stop the installation twice to render first aid. If you buy this item (which you should not) wear gloves and have a first aid kit handy.Overall, I would not recommend this unit to anyone.
