Designed by Richard Launius, the creator of Arkham Horror, the Grave Consequences expansion for Elder Sign introduces fifty new cards in three modular decks: Phobia, Epic Battle, and Epitaph. All three of these decks and their cards can be used together or separately, and they're all fully compatible with the core game, as well as all of its expansions. Whether you use one deck, or all of them, you'll find they increase the challenge and drama of your Elder Sign adventure. Even more, they'll immerse you more deeply into its world and help you connect more fully to the investigator that you're playing.

In the other expansions it's like getting another mini game
Although this expansion does add a difficulty level to the game which is just insane and makes the game so much harder (didn't think that was possible after playing Omens in the Ice), the problem I have is the price of the expansion. It is not that much different to the other expansions and yet you get a lot less for your money. In the other expansions it's like getting another mini game, you just need some of the key elements from the original games (stamina, sanity, clues, etc). You get lots of extras and I didn't mind forking out the money for them. This however is just a few cards. Why it costs this much when you only get a fraction of what is in the other expansions makes my mind boggle. Although it does add an element to the game, I'm not sure it was actually worth the price. If you can pick it up for second hand or in a 50% sale, I would recommend it.

Good addition, but poor value for money
I bought this elsewhere for significantly less than the current price on amazon. What you get is a very small package containing 50 of the mini cards (same size as mythos cards) broken down into 3 sets. Firstly you get the epic battle cards. These generally make the final demon battles much harder by adding specific conditions. Then you get the phobia cards which cover a bizarre range of phobias that are triggered by different occasions in the game, causing the effected person to lose sanity. Lastly you have the epitaph cards. These are little gravestones that provide either a bonus or penalty on the group on the death of an investigator.Whilst I do like the extra level of difficulty that these provides, I really struggle to justify the price that I paid for them, especially when the full adventure expansions are only around £20. Good, but not essential.

Grave Consequences
i was surprised to see how small this expansion was a bit expensive for the number of cards in the set Regards D Sutton
