A Great Art Tool
A remarkable tool for art study and practice. The capacity to adjust it for nearly any position is great. My only bad criticism is that there is difficulty adjusting for relative depth to the work area. But I count that as MY issue, because I have an oddball desk setup.

This is a little difficult to use, you still need some talent and a steady hand. But all in all, it works like it should. Just don't the idea this will make you an instant artist. Well built and sturdy.

Didn't Work For Me
I chose this after reading all the reviews - it seems most people had to get used to the drawing part. I didn't have a problem with getting used to the drawing part. My problem started with not opening this for months because a friend of mine had cancer and I put my art aside while spending time with my friend, so I didn't notice until it was too late that the shader that was supposed to be provided was not provided. I figured "not a big deal" and went on to trying to use it. No matter how far/close the item I wanted to draw was, or how high/low the NeoLucida was set, the item NEVER changed size. I tried something I had taken a picture of with my phone - stayed small regardless of adjusting all parts involved. Sent it to my laptop, enlarged the photo, it still stayed small. The directions show that the further the NL is from your paper the larger the picture will be - this was not my reality. I tried it closer just to see if I was working with too small an object/pic, and nope, still the same small size. Very disappointed. If I want tiny drawings this will be great, but anything "normal" or larger it was a waste of my money. Maybe you have to have a GIANT item to copy. I tried small (3" X 5"), medium (8" X 10"), and enlarging one section of the picture to 10" X 15" and it never got bigger than 2" wide so the height didn't matter.

Only good for small pictures
This product works but not as easily as I would like. Light intensity is important. So are the angles of the subject and lucida - if not straight the image gets skewed and it is difficult to trace accurately because the pencil is not where it appears to be. The biggest problem, however, is that you are limited to a paper size of about 9"x12". The instructions say the image can be expanded by raising the lucida above the paper, which is correct. The problem is that the paper soon gets too far away to do a decent trace job. The video actually shows a guy with the paper on the floor and his pencil on the end of a stick! Not and ideal situation. A decent product overall but not what I hoped for.

Won’t make you become Monet
Great concept but definitely not for everyone. I purchased primarily to teach my young children about drawing in perspective. They enjoy using it and the concept is being taught. Using it myself, there is a learning curve getting my hand to accurately trace along the mirrored image, but it is a fun to use tool. It definitely will not turn a person into a high-end artist (& in most cases even into a low-end artist) if you don’t already have an eye for drawing detail and proper shading techniques, so don’t quit your day jobs. If you have no clue how to draw, you will probably have a difficult time with this concept as well. If you’re looking to try a different technique to supplement (and in some cases improve upon) knowledge and skill you already have, this is a unique tool that could be beneficial. The product seems to be decent quality and was adequately packaged. I found it pretty easy to figure out how to assemble and use without reading the instructions.

Viewfinder works great, clamp broken after multiple uses.
This works great but does require some fiddling to get the view correct. The clamp broke on mine after just under a year of use. Don’t store it clamped onto a table as it could break like mine did and the clamp base is a bit small and on a wood table could dent the wood. There’s a light shade on it that is quite clever and the flexible stand is handy but can sometimes be fussy to get it just right. It takes some practice but it’s good for getting a image onto the paper when you’re anxious about your drawing skills and just want the proportions right. Kinda spendy but I’m glad I got it. Just wish I had a better clamp. I’ll try to get another clamp rather than tossing it.

YES
This tool is more fun than I can say - it solves some longrunning issues with accurate detail copying in my work. If I want to make a nice clean final draft of one of my paintings, it is no longer a drear! YESSSSS Easy to use, but be sure to read all the instructions, put it down, then read them again. I missed one of the important direction points at first and was not getting the desired result I put it down - did other things and re-read it all - the directions are easy and not too long - and found the data that explained why I was having difficulty - I forgot to remove the brightlight shade, discretely and artfully included in the basic design. So it was like trying to drive with the car in "park" mode. funny now.... I do wish your experience is as nice as mine so far! e

I purchased it as a Xmas gift. My wife was hugely disappointed. It did not live up to her expectations at all.

Tycker den ger skarp och bra bild. Önskar bara att den skulle kunna ge en större bild för större tavlor. Men annars nöjd.
