Works flawlessy with no noise or excesive heat.
When I got this I thought it was defective because when I plugged anything into it the circuit breaker for the entire wall would trip off. I found out the wall outlet had an internal short that tripped when anything plugged into it and was switched on. Once I used a different outlet the unit worked correctly for my High End Stereo system which included a very high power (500 watt) Amplifier that draws a lot of current. I think this converter is a value and is very reasonably priced. I have an 8 outlet circuit breaker hooked to it and it operates 8 pieces of equipment including my TV, DVD player, the Amp and Preamp, CD player, and Turntable for hours with no issues. When I had the problem with it shutting off I contacted the supplier. Even though it was past the return date, and I was in Portugal, the were going to arrange for me to return it to the factory in China for repair or exchange. Very helpful and courteous supplier. I can highly recommend both the converter and the supplier.

Works great with electronic components
Use it for a pressure cooker, instant pot, and nutra bullet. It is working very well. The display screen is very helpful to determine how many volts you are using. It also has a nice design look comparted to the old school chunck of metal. I hope it lasts.

Satisfied
Using the device to power a bidet imported from Japan. It's on 24/7 and works well. The passive power consumption with the bidet plugged in is around 6w.The device itself is extremely heavy and feels well built.Operating noise and heat are very low.The only downside is the high price, which is still in line with similar devices.

Finally a step-down converter that's also easy on the eyes
If you've bought power-hungry electronics equipment in Japan and you're worried about our US voltage causing damage over time (you should be!), the UMI 120V to 100V Converter may be your best bet. I've lived in Japan and Europe for many years and have used many converters (220V, 110V, 100V), but most of them sported a bulky, ugly, industrial design or were slim-lined solutions that couldn't handle higher wattage appliances.I've used the 120V to 100V step-down model for a few weeks for a Japan-made Tiger "donabe" rice cooker with a 1,000 watt rating and have been operating it without issue twice a week or more. The UMI Converter looks good -- almost like a small, slim desktop PC, and has a clearly labeled input and output outlet. I have it permanently situated behind my rice cooker along the backsplash of my kitchen and it blends in nicely. It's easy to turn off when not in use and has clear read-outs for voltage and wattage on the front. It's not cheapIn case you're confused, even though most US appliances are rated for 110V, if you measure the voltage output of your outlets you may actually encounter 120V and 125V current. Since my rice cooker is designed for sale in Japan only and has electronic logic modules/timers/displays and speech output, it probably doesn't take kindly to voltage fluctuations. With 1,600 Watt capacity, it can handle my 1,000 Watt cooker without problems and guarantee a long lifespan.I'll report back in in case the converter bows out prematurely, but so far, it's exactly what I was looking for.

Amazing , works perfectly for my instant pot ( 8 months now )
Bought it just so that I could use my wifi instant pot as it's only on 110VYou need to be careful in selecting which model you want for what purposes, some work on reverse mode , pay here and understand which model works in what manner, seller never replied to my query. But the device is working amazing even after 8 months. I bought this model as its capacity is just slightly over the instant pots min requirement. I think this is better than buying the exact same capacity as instant pot's requirement. The meter shows the voltage when the instant pot is heating , and it will fluctuate as instant pot requires more voltage or when it reaches the desired temp. I switch the device off after usage.Only con is the wire is too short, you need to place the service as far away from the steam and pressure instant pot makes to prevent and liquid falling onto the converters vent.

US to Asia - Dyson Airwrap
I didn't expect for the transformer itself to be so heavy, but omgggg this has been a lifesaver as someone who got a Dyson Airwrap as a gift in the states. I live in SEA so I was scared of plugging this right in. This transformer has been a lifesaver! Been styling my hair with no problems from the airwrap and the transformer itself. Definitely worth the purchase!

Encountered two major issues
First, there was a power interruption and this did not turn back on. (There is no mention of power recovery after an interruption.Second, the transformer was on a power on state but there was no power on the output side. I verified this with a multi meter. Turning it off and on again fixed it.I simply cannot allow these setbacks because this is powering a refrigerator.
