I have a cactus birdhouse and there is no opening at the bottom to clean out the nest. any suggestions? have i just missed the opening?

Hi there, I'm not sure about the cactus birdhouse you are referring to but this birdhouse has an opening at the bottom with twine wrapped around a knot at the bottom that allows for you to clean it out. Hope that helps!

Should newspaper stuffing be removed before use or would birds think of it as nesting material?

We have one of these hanging in a small tree. It hasn't attracted a bird yet. We are concerned because it spins in the wind. How best to stop this?

Attach a some fishing string to the bottom of the birdhouse to the tree that should stop it from spinning

Just under an inch. Haven't had any birdies use it yet!

Made of naturally water-repellent sheeps wool, moisture from rain or snow will wick through the felt and around the nest, and will air-dry since wool naturally breathes. Also, wool is thermal; cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Do not put in washing machine or dryer. If cleaning is needed, spot clean with water and mild soap, then rinse and air dry.
