I have tried Jolkhabar's patali gur before. It was good. Then, I had a sudden hankering for nolen gur, so put in an order. It arrived in 13 days in a wide-mouthed glass jar with a well-fitting, twist-off lid. The color, translucence, viscosity and flavor were authentic- as much as I could recall from my childhood in Kolkata. I have tried it 'as is' and with plain vanilla ice cream. Delicious. I now look forward to savoring nolen gur with my morning porridge and the vast plethora of Bengali desserts.

I have to give this 5 stars for the authentic taste and its liquid state throughout- exactly as expected. Great job of shipping from India. I am enjoying spoonfuls right out of the jar. Have shared about the product with my friends too.

The flavour and taste is excellent. Though a little pricey, I would still order again just because of the quality. Edited on 7th April 2024: The experience with the second bottle I ordered was not as good as the first one. The nolen gur was very sweet (which it is NOT supposed to be). When I had reached towards the end of the bottle after consumption, there was a layer of sugar crystals at the bottom of the glass jar - which now explains the sweetness. Please try to retain the original quality. Deducting one star from original rating.

WORST PRODUCT And SELLER. MUST AVOID THIS. Looks like the ratings are self cooked. Worst quality Nolen Gur, I have ever tried. The taste is bitter. Looks like part of the Nolen Gur got burnt during preparation process and the seller didn’t do simple quality check during packaging to see if it’s ok. I’m paying over Rs 1000 / Kg, not for your packaging only and more for the consumable product itself. When I tried returning the product mentioned the reason, the seller denied the return request, that shows pathetic approach of the seller towards customers. Request Amazon to please educate the seller. I have tried original Nolen Gur for around Rs 300 / kg available by North-Eastern seller and those are far far better.
