![Taylor Parker, Kay - A Taboo Identity: The [r]evolution Of Kay Taylor Parker](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61zjok8T7AL.jpg)

"A Taboo Identity" explores Kay Taylor Parker's 30+ year journey from being a 1980's legend in the adult film industry to her current work as a metaphysical counselor. The film addresses today's challenge of identity branding and the now common issue of "past vs. Present"... a struggle faced by many in our changing time. Social psychologist, David W. Wahl introduces the viewer to Kay Taylor Parker and the self she has come to terms with. He presents the systematic identity work that Kay has utilized in order to get to where she is now. In the course of this identity work, Wahl presents the ever widening gap between sexuality and spirituality where the "taboo" element of Kay's past has overshadowed what she considers to be her real work as a spiritual healer. Friends of Kay's join in the discussion to discuss her journey. Included are Seka, Howie Gordon, Bill Margold, Eric Edwards, Jill Schoelen, Adam Rifkin, and Leon Isaac Kennedy. A Taboo Identity is a documentary about rebirth with all the struggles and conflicts that are inherent within the process. The film explores Kay's loving and deeply caring nature and how the world has embraced it as much as it has misunderstood it. This is a documentary that will satisfy not only Kay's many fans around the globe but also academic and spiritual communities. A Taboo Identity provides viewers with a long and unflinching look at the actualization of Kay Taylor Parker. History: In 1980, an adult film was released that shocked viewers and the industry alike with it's central subject matter - incest. That film was called "Taboo", and it went on to become the highest grossing adult film of it's era. It also paved the way for a series that held the same name and distinction. The controversial film and series was instrumental in launching the celebrity of the movie's star, Kay Parker

For Documentary Fans.
It's an interesting take on Kay Parker. 8.4 out of 10. She comes across some as whining a little bit about her famous career when she should blame herself if she doesn't like what she did. Still it's pretty good though I laughed at her doing metaphysical counselor thinking the stuff people come up with to make a living's incredible nowadays. A good mix of informative, amusing, and entertaining. Well done.

Awful! Don't waste your time.
It doesn't even fulfill the director's own goal that he mentions near the end. Most of this documentary makes little sense, sometimes diverting to the making of. And the "I should make a movie about Bill's cat" which sounds less interesting than this movie. We learn nothing of Kay's "journey" from adult actress. Only that she was an adult actress and now a metaphysical counselor. Already knew that, besides it being in the movie's description. Actually I learned nothing watching this entire movie. It mentions at one point in the movie, a crew of five yet the quality & content come across like its one person with a cell phone. The audio goes from clear & loud, to not being able to hear what's being said. There are interviews with former B movie actress Jill Schoelen although, no idea why she is relevant.I'd rather give zero stars but that's not possible.

Ex-Porn Actress turned Metaphysical Guru; Ho-Hum
I would have preferred her more if she had owned her former career. I don't like all the (mostly men) who mourn her porn career, and say how she improved their lives, yet she tries to brush off the downsides of the industry. It's legalized prostitution on film. What about all the women's lives trashed by this industry? What about all the addicted boys and men? I say, Pay for it the old-fashioned way....own up to it, sleuth around to pay, get caught the old-fashioned way, and try to repair your marriage. Stop trying to use dating sites/applications for free sex; women are becoming more savvy and less sexually gregarious. Later...player.

Here's an utter waste of time
The "psychologist" at the center of this turd is a beta personality that continually looks as if he's about to burst into tears. It makes one wonder if the disparaged look was caused by the reality that a laughable former porn actress wasn't going to put-out for him no matter how many hours of video tape he recorded. Here's a reality check: A button-up shirt with a necktie does not make you a Kinseyan academic any more than a wet suit with a cardboard fin makes you an orca. This film is nothing more than a desperate grasp for 15 minutes of fame jammed into a 90 minute time spot.

Kay Parker is such an Icon
I love Kay Parker. I wrote her an email once to tell her how much I adore her and she wrote back and it meant a lot to me. She’s a beauty inside and out.

Psychobabble & Boring....
If these folks believed a single word of what they try to sell in this self serving, dim 'documentary', they'd never have made it. The discussions & arguments are so flimsy, you quickly wonder - Who's the judgy hypocrite? Anyone (or any group) that has to justify herself/himself in this way has a long, long, long way to go to enlightenment. Insult to injury: Utterly boring.
