Q: Why such a high price, Target has it every day for buy 3 get 12ozs for $5.99 each and you can use coupons.

Amazon is great, but some of their suppliers are apparently a bit greedy. Target or Cub here have this for 5.99 to 7.99.

Q: Is this package whole beans or pre ground? Want to try it for making cold brew.

they are ground. I use french press.

Q: how to prepare in a regular coffee pot

I have never tried it but I think you could make it like turkish coffee. Several good methods on Google. Basically put an amount of coffee in a pot (how strong do you like it. Probably 2tbs to 4oz water-experiment a little) you will need to filter it by pouring the coffee thru a paper towel or tea towel to remove the very fine grounds. Start with a good coffee. I can recommend the starbucks dark roast. If you grind your own you will need a grinder that is made for expresso. Check your food store. Their grinders may have expresso grind. I just buy it preground. You will be surprised how much you will save. F2f or the price of a couple of carmel machiattos you will have coffee for weeks. You will soon save enough to buy a Bialletti pot. A 2 cup size is only a little over $20 on Amazon. I just ordered a 6 cupper. Note that their cup is a regular size like at a shop. I usually drink a 2 pot by myself. I hope this helps. If you like the flavored drinks (caramel machiatto is my favorite) the recipes are on Google. The various syrups are also on Amazon or in stores. Good luck. I haven't tried this way with expresso but it works for cowboy camping coffee! Save your money and buy a pot. Like I said if you're a regular drinker you will save enough to by a pot. I'm having so much fun experimenting with different coffee. I now do expresso and Turkish. Next up is Greek and more. Make up your own mixtures. EXPERIMENT! ! Have fun with it.
