Tasty clean water
I have been using this for six months now and wish I got it sooner! This machine makes the absolute best tasting water. The tap water in my home is hard, musty, and not something I would ever drink before this. But now, I am saving an enormous amount of money instead of buying bottled water. It has already paid for itself! The machine is very easy to use. All you have to do is remove the tank, dump and refill to the line, and run the cycle and you end up with pure clean water that tastes great due to the remineralization filter. Do be sure to refill the tank between each cycle, even with water remaining. You need to get rid of the reject water in order to maintain the system. I use this several times a day and by entirely changing the water each cycle have ensured very minimal wear and tear on the filters. The only one I have replaced is the remineralization filter on the carafe at around the 6 month mark. You will need to replace this more often than the others but it is also the cheapest piece to replace at about $15 when you buy them in a 2-pack. I have had to descale the carafe a couple of times as mineral build up can occur, but simply mix warm water with vinegar and let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse it out. The unit is bigger than most coffee makers but still small enough to fit under most kitchen cabinets and comfortably on the counter. It needs only a simple plug so can also be used elsewhere like a table in an office. You just have to tote the water tank to a kitchen/bathroom faucet nearby. If you are on the fence I would highly encourage you to buy this!

One of the best things I’ve purchased for my health
****UPDATED WITH MY EXPERIENCE/COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS*** Blue VUA Filter Changing Incl: descaling & cleaning: It's a good time to change everything and keep it in a cycle that is efficient and easy to remember. That being said, every 6 months you need to replace the 3 filters outside of the RO reverse osmosis filter which is 1x/year. If you use the mineral beads, they need to be changed every six months like the other 3 filters. Save yourself time and a headache and do them all at once! That being said, this is the process: • Remove ALL the filters including the mineral beads. • DESCALING: In the descaling kit, you will find four plugs that you screw into where you just removed the old filters. Insert ALL 4 of them even if you're not changing out the RO yet because you don't want the descaling and cleansing to go through a still good RO filter! You only need one set of plugs for both and they come with the descaling kit. • Fill the resivoir to the MAX line and empty one packet of descaling powder into a full reservoir of water. Stir it until it dissolves. Run the water for about four minutes and then stop it and let the descaling solution sit for 30 minutes. After that time press the brew button again and finish the water that's still in the tank. • Flush the system 4 times with new tap-water. IMPT!!!*** You should do descaling BEFORE the cleaning /tablet. To save more time and another headache take a glass of tapwater and put in the cleaning tablet. There's a coating on it that makes it take a long time to dissolve. I keep stirring and stab at it a little bit until it dissolves while I am running all of the flushing out cycles. This takes a long time and it would take a lot longer if you then had to wait for the tablet to dissolve! Do it ahead of time! • Pour the glass of water with the dissolved cleaning tablet into the reservoir and fill it to the MAX line. It says to only do one flush after the cleaning tablet which you can "brew" right away, no sitting needed. • Remove cleaning plugs. Water will drip! Replace all of the filters with new ones or new and still good RO depending on what 6 month filter cycle you are on. There's a little lever on the right side of the furthest right filter, underneath a white cover you can feel and push. That should reset the filters one at a time but if they don't, (my last time 2 showed new and 2 showed on the last bar) or you don't want to go through the process of one by one I found out a way that is not in any description. No matter what I did to reset and two did not so I had to call Customer Service. You push up that toggle button inside next to the far right filter and while holding it in, turn it off and on again at the same time. That cleared everything to read as new. • It said to now flush the whole system with the new filters a couple of times because the water will be cloudy during the flush. Do NOT put in the new mineral beads until you are ready to run your first good pitcher. As I know from my first research when purchasing this machine, the output water numbers on the right side of the screen from the tap water should never be more than 30 to be purified enough to drink. When you're running the flush of the new filters those numbers will drop rapidly but I still did three flushes until there was no cloudiness and got to 30. • Lastly I inserted the new mineral beads into the pitcher and ran a good clean cycle that was less than 30 output. Usually it's near 8 and it will go down again. A lot of steps and time but do it!**** I wanted a reverse osmosis system, but I didn’t want the expense and the installation and everything of under the sink and didn’t know if I wanted to take up that much room. Somehow, I saw this and liked what it said and the reviews. I looked at independent studies that also had this as one of the best. I’m very glad I got the UV one because that keeps it “self cleaning” so there isn’t any bacteria buildup in the reservoir which I have read as a negative for the other model that does not have UV, so spend the extra money! It comes with a little mineral add on for the lid of the carafe that screws right into the lid, and ordered extras of those and an extra carafe because I keep one carafe in the refrigerator for cold water at all times. The other pitcher I brew mostly for my cats water and coffee. All the water that’s been filtered out waters the plants outside so it’s a win-win all the way around. I always gave my cats bottled or pitcher filtered water but since the day I started using this, there has not been one upset stomach or vomiting at all. None! I started making my large 2 inch ice cubes and round craft ice with this water and stopped the icemaker that was built into my inside freezer. It’s a very expensive huge fridge that was originally $16,000 (came with the house ) but the ice tasted terrible and it comes in from sink water and there is no filter. I felt gross anytime I added ice to anything and now all I taste is clean clean clean. When I first got it, I did more than the five flushes, about seven or eight to get the filters going and any residue out. I decided for the heck of it to check my Mavea/Britta pitcher filtered water too. The tap water was around 550 so super poor quality and it should be 30 or below. I have a Malvea water pitcher which was Britta‘s premium water pitcher that they no longer make, but you can still buy filters for. I had just changed the filter within two weeks and when I ran that water through the machine, it was approximately 650! Worse than tapwater! Then I started researching more and those filters hold in bacteria. So when I thought I was giving my cats better water, I wasn’t. On another note, some things to know if you have problems with acid like me. The mineralization really helps because it adds more minerals back in plus it makes the water less acidic which RO water tends to be slightly acidic. That will also make the number slightly higher with the minerals added, so don’t let it make you think your water isn’t as low as it should be, but it will still stay low for the output water. It’s very easy to fill and carry. You can use a jug and fill the reservoir easily or carry it by the handle and put it in the sink and fill it to the waterline . And obviously easy to carry the spent water to water your plants. It’s also super quiet. Three of the filters need to be changed about every year and the RO filter approximately every two years. The mineralization every six months. I’m thrilled with the size, appearance, functionality, and the obvious improvement adding to healthy lifestyle. Love it!

San Diego, California - still great after 6 months
This works great if you have the counter space in your apartment. If you don’t live in an apartment, you should install under-the-counter RO system instead (cheaper and less maintenance). Waited over 6 months to write this review. Water tastes just as clean and great as the first day as I got this machine. For a 2-person household (and a 40lbs dog), I refill the reservoir 1 to 2 times a day (and dumping out the waste water). If I need to use it for cooking, I have to prefill a separate 2QT/2L pitcher I keep set aside. It takes quite a while to get used to the upkeep and getting into certain habits, and to get other ppl to be on board with refilling the water reservoir and pressing a button every day - but it was worth it to me. I empty the contents of the glass carafe into the pitcher I set aside in order to fill the whole carafe again, because I hated cycling through how much I’d want to dispense each time (this machine lets you choose from 3 settings). I only like to dispense a full carafe rather than cycle through the settings to make it easier on myself. The other upkeep is being gone for more than 3 days. Every time I went on vacation, I had to empty out the filters, wrap it in seran, and put them in the fridge. You can easily YouTube the instructions for this on what to do before/after vacation. You also have to be careful about ruining the filters when you fill it with warm water (in the summers, the pipes can heat up the water from the faucet). Not running the machine at least once a day to 3 days and filtering warm water through the filters will kill the filters. The longer in between since you’ve ran your filters OR running warm water, the higher the TDS number is on the machine. You don’t even have to look at the TDS (and I really don’t look bcs I can’t count on it), bcs you’ll taste the wonkiness. Running the filter a few times consecutively with cool/cold water will fix it though. So I was really careful about that. Even if I wasn’t going to drink it, I’d use it to fill my coffee machine and the dog’s water bowl, or fill a different pitcher for cooking one day. When I do that, it’s easily 2-3 pitchers a day (without cooking with it). And that keeps my filters running well each day. Each fill is probably 6-7 minutes to fill a whole carafe. I haven’t had to use citric acid solution to descale it or anything, which was surprising since I’m supposed to be doing that every 1-2 months. I can only assume I’ve been doing it correctly in protecting the filters by running it daily then cuz I’ve been waiting to descale it every month, but have not once felt I needed to yet. Cons and DIYing: The REAL downside of this is that it is hard to reach for the reservoir (it’s not the upkeep that’s the con). So I actually purchased an 8 inch heavy duty swivel base/turntable that’s meant for computers and heavy items, and I positioned it neatly and balanced under this RO machine. I think a 10 inch one would be much better though, so that I wouldn’t have to worry about the balance as much. Now it’s much easier to access the reservoir, because I just need to swivel it. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: the video I’m showing is me having DIYed this - it absolutely does not come with the RO machine. But the company should take note of this and idk… update their machines to be built with it or something like that. It’s a no-brainer.. About Filters: San Diego (SoCal, Southern California) water has got to be one of the hardest waters there is in the country. I feel it in my hair, on my skin, and the drinking water is nasty. I’ve tried all kinds of filters: Aquabliss for showers, zerowater and brita for drinking, and the regular old whirlpool for the fridge. But because all those filters are not RO, the filters absorb all the hardness in the water in 2 weeks and become completely useless. Yup… even if your filters says life of the filters lasts 4-6 months, you can count on San Diego water to decrease that lifespan all the way down to under a month. It’s such a waste of money. Other people who have grown up in San Diego probably either doesn’t care, cares but can’t do anything about it, doesn’t have the taste buds, or already lives off of filtered water (like whole-home filters). So they don’t complain much. But I’m a transplant. So I know the difference the very first moment I stepped foot in San Diego. So, I was not very optimistic about this tabletop RO machine. I was expecting it to decrease filter efficiency dramatically in less than 6 months even though it says the filters lasts 1 year (with the RO lasting 2). I was HIGHLY skeptical. But I guess I was wrong. Very wrong. Cuz here I am, 6 months later, and the water STILL tastes great. 6 months later, the filter meter says exactly 3 filters have about half the lifespan, and the RO filter have 3/4th the lifespan left. Which means that at this rate for 2 ppl, this could potentially last as long as what was advertised. I don’t take filter indications for face value anymore though, so I go by what I taste. And it indeed still tastes fresh and good like I had dispensed it from a RO machine. About Remineralization: Now, I am not sure if the remineralization does anything other than making the water taste even better, but i wasn’t going to take a chance of not having one. You see, I used to drink RO water exclusively for many, MANY years without remineralization (I think close to 10 years). Suddenly, I was developing pains and dehydration, incontinence, exhaustion, etc. which I had gone to the doctor for. The more water I drank, the thirstier I got, and the more tired I was. Blood work and scans (lots of scans) all came back normal. Went to specialists for autoimmune diseases, which I didn’t have. Long story short, I stopped drinking RO water and my health finally improved (i think within a month). It was the oddest 3 years of my life. People say that you get the minerals you need from food… and all that demineralization stuff from RO water demineralization your body is just myth or whatever - and I’m sure some of that is true or not, but heck, like I said I wasn’t going to take that chance ever again. The feeling of literally feeling so parched after drinking water was excruciating like I was at the extreme end of drowning on land. I was going insane. So, I’m on board about the remineralization thing. Anyways, I have tried it without that filter, and with filter indeed makes the water taste even better with it. There are days when I feel dehydrated lately no matter how much water I drink. So I guess it’s time to rebuy the remineralization since it is already over 6 months.

Excellent water quality and taste after 3 months of use
I've been using this system for about three months with faucet water, and I'm extremely impressed with the water quality and taste. The combination of reverse-osmosis filtration and UV treatment produces what I consider the best-tasting drinking water I've had from a home filtration system. The taste and output have remained consistently excellent. The system is very easy to operate, with self-explanatory display icons. With my normal use, it produces a full container in about five minutes. It's also an attractive countertop unit and has been very clean and consistent in daily use. The main issue I've encountered is mineral/limescale buildup from minerals such as calcium in my incoming water. The symptom for me was noticeably slower filling, with the system no longer filling the container to the amount indicated on the display. I was able to resolve this by following the manufacturer's vinegar-and-water descaling procedure and thoroughly rinsing the system. Normal flow returned afterward. After three months, I haven't needed to replace any filters. The system displays the remaining life of the individual filters, making it easy to monitor their status rather than replacing them simply based on elapsed time. Other than addressing the mineral buildup, I've found that the system requires very little routine maintenance. I also think this system offers very good value considering the quality of the water it produces, particularly compared with much more expensive ionizer systems. Overall, I'm very happy with the system. The excellent taste and water quality, fast filtration, attractive design, simple controls, and low routine maintenance make it an excellent choice for someone who is particularly particular about the quality and taste of their drinking water.

So far, so good
The taste! O goodness. I've been using the Zero-Water system for three years, with TDS readings showing that the filters were lasting a month with my level of usage. I use 1.5-3 gallons a day. When a recent batch of filters came in (I order them 6 at a time) I twas incredulous as one by one they lasted no more than 2 weeks for the same level of usage. I fond myself drinking at TDS levels of 100 to 350 without realizing it!!! However, I did notice a definite physical response as my energy levels and mental clarity were dminishing. OMIGOODNESS. That's how much good water affects us. I pray for people who must use tap water. Here mine is about 350 but I read reports from others that go up to 500. I have had this system for 24 hours, so I cannot speak to bow well made it is or its durability. This review will be updated in a year or so as I can speak to this. I am counting on getting at least a few years out of this machine but for once I purchased the extended warranty because electronics can be iffy. For $60 it's worth it to protect the $325 I paid (with tax). I did like the low energy footprint of a water filtration system which does not require electricity. Therefore, I am keeping ZeroWater as a backup in my closet. Now, let's address the interface. Going digital has been fun. The readout matches what I get on my TDS monitors, the same one I have been using with Zero Water. The way it backflushes and also leaves "dirty" water is a novelty. I cannot tell what the amount of dirty water is to clean. I just fill the tank full and make a full pitcher of water. There's about half a tank left to discard. I would say be cautious about discarding this on plants because even plants may have sensitivity to heavy metals (except sunflowers, which removes them but then become inedible). Don't water your garden edibles with the discarded water. I have been flushing it down the toilet. I will try it on my houseplants soon. The glass pitcher is perfect. No need to transfer clean water to a glass container as I have had to do with the Zero Water pitchers. More subjectively, after drinking this for 24 hours, I have to say I feel a sense of physical well being I never expected. Greater mental clarity from the get-go, and my body feels like all the cells are thanking me. Weird because I never thought about this, and I highly doubt is's psychosomatic. I have opted out of using the minerals because I'm pretty picky about supplements and have no idea what specifically is in them or their source. The water is fab without them. My morning coffee has been improved taste-wise as well. If it lasts, it will have been worth the savings during this season of living in a rental where I'd rather not install a system under the sink.

One Year Review
This is a 13 month review.. The pluses: 1. Taste of purified water 2. Speed of filtering process 3. Simple operation 4. UV “filtering” 5. RO process, low sound level 6. Re-mineralization filter 7. Ease of replacing filters after 1 year 8. Reasonable price of replacement filters The not-so-great: 1. Having to throw away 40% of RO water 2. Water tank made of thin plastic 3. Pitcher made of very thin glass that leaks 4. Seating of water tank not perfect 5. Some minor leakage emptying tank 6. Raw input and clean output #’s are bunk We drink a lot of water. Our water department goes through a biannual treatment practice that fills the water with contaminants and makes it taste awful. This machine removed the taste and smell problems. However, when we use tap water, or filtered water from the fridge, the raw water reading and the clean output readings DO NOT differ. So either the digital readout is just propaganda garbage, or the tap water, and the high grade refrigerator filter delivers the same water quality. I doubt it. The water tank (thin plastic) feels a little flimsy when full of water. The tank gaskets and flush mounting into the filter machine is touchy. First day machine wouldn’t work. Called service (which is terrible btw) and their two suggestions didn’t fix the problem. I fixed it by jiggling the full (unseated) tank until it finally fully settled into position. *Hint * the tank lid should be flush. You have to throw away a little more than a third of the raw water tank backwash. The RO process flushes contaminants back into the tank. So less output and more filtering processes. Filling the tank, filtering to first cup takes about ten minutes, five if you have it down to a system. *Hint* the “max* line fill level indicators on the carafe and the fill tank do not correlate. If you fill the cafe to the indicated maximum fill line (2x) it will not fill the tank to the max fill line. Minor issue because it’s easy to compensate, but the inaccuracy does raise some questions. The glass pitcher is very fragile. We haven’t broken it yet. The call to customer service got me a promise to call me within 24 hrs. Not ideal, but okay. No call. Instead I got a lengthy email with two suggestions of “most often” encountered assembly or shipping problems. Neither was the issue. The system (with an $80 discount) was less expensive than most countertop filters. Most competitors charge extra for the re-mineralization filter. It was included with this product at no extra charge. I’ve purchased two new mineral packets over the first year of use. Easy to replace. When pulling the tank to refill (it still has a lot of waste water in it) there is always some dribbling on whatever surfaces are close by. The leaking comes from the gasket access ports on the bottom of the tank. There’s no way to prevent this. The leaking of the pitcher is due to the pour spout design. No way to remedy that either. I use the backwash to water my potted plants so it isn’t truly wasted. So, overall? Decent price value when compared to competitors, great taste of filtered water, and easy to use. But the build quality, leaking and poor service response are not top grade. Still, after a year it’s working well, providing clear, clean water and I’m happy with it. Recommended.

Health benefits of this product.
After extensive research, which included a comprehensive analysis of product reviews and thorough video evaluations of various water filtration systems, I made an informed decision regarding a purchase. My living situation in an apartment necessitated the selection of a countertop model, with affordability being a primary consideration in my selection process. As a 70-year-old individual, I have become acutely aware of the critical importance of optimal hydration, adequate trace mineral intake, and electrolyte balance for maintaining my overall health. This particular system has proven to be an indispensable asset, providing the essential elements crucial for my well-being at this stage of life. The purified water it produces possesses a remarkable purity and taste profile, which has notably reduced my inclination towards other beverages. It is particularly noteworthy that my 19-year-old grandson, who previously favored soft drinks, fruit juices, and teas, now consistently chooses this water, attesting to its superior appeal and satisfaction. As a direct result, my daily water intake has substantially increased, reaching levels I had not previously achieved. This purified water has indeed become my preferred, and often sole, desired beverage throughout the day. Based on my personal experience, I can confidently state that the Bluevua RO100ROPOT is unparalleled in its capacity to fulfill all my hydration and nutritional requirements. I unequivocally recommend a thorough investigation into the comprehensive benefits and capabilities of this outstanding product. My profound satisfaction with the Bluevua RO100ROPOT cannot be overstated.
