Ordered this for my class as we have a chess club, didn't use it for the backgammon so can't comment on that.The chess board is great, really nicely made, seems like one you'd buy in an antique shop so that was pleasant.

I was really looking forward to receiving this item.This is the kind of item that I wouldn't of usually checked, as a Christmas gift for my father, I would of presumed for just short of £75 for this set that it would be in perfect and complete.The box was very well packaged and secure to ensure the chess/backgammon box was in immaculate condition.I was very impressed with the effort that had been taken to secure the box.On the side of the box was a sticker with a 'QC passed' by (name).So, again I would of usually trusted that it has been throughly and a manually checked 'Quality Control' procedure.The chessboard is on one side of the box, with Backgammon on the reverse side.Inside the hinged lid, the pieces are seperated into two bags.I started to take out the chess pieces...and was extremely disappointed that one set had the 'Knight' missing and one pawn.The 'Bishop' on the other set had been damaged and was missing a piece off the top.Although I am very dissatisfied with this as its unusable to play a game of chess, I am just glad that I opened it before gifting this as it saved me alot of embarrassment gifting an incomplete item and saved my father from being disappointed when setting up his chessboard.Now it's close to Christmas and more than a little inconvienient to be searching for an alternative present for my father.

This game with chess and backgammon looks stunning.It came extremely well packed and the figures and disks are made out of great quality too.This game is highly giftable and I am very happy with it.This is a great combo game that I can highly recommend to you.
