I bought this holder in 2022 and still work great, this is the best holder ever. It's the only one I ever found that sticks securely on my dashboard. The design lets it hold extra large units like my Garmin with no problem. The ones I tried to stick to the windshield don't last long. I'm so glad I found this holder. I will order another one soon for the second car.

This holder keeps my Garmin Nuvi® right where I need it and holds it securely in place. I previously used a holder that locked into a cup holder but had to look down to see it. Solid and frees up space used by the previous holder.

Even though I’ve rated this three stars in the initial three rating areas, my overall rating is four stars. Here’s why.I’ve been using a fairly old Garmin Nuvi six inch navigation device in my summer cars for several years, because they were not equipped with factory navigation. The Garmin beanbag base worked fairly well, except on this Chrysler Crossfire, which has a very firm suspension and is the type of car that begs to be driven hard. I’ve put about a couple of hundred miles on the car since installing this base. The dashboard on this car is as slippery as ice; it’s amazing how slippery it is. The beanbag base would slide off, hard, every time I turned or accelerated a tiny bit too fast. So it was useless on this car.The base under review is, so far, keeping the Garmin in place. However....I have not made any sudden turns, stops, or jack rabbit type starts. I’ve been driving fairly conservatively, but there are a lot of rough roads around here, and driving usually includes a great deal of stop and go streets.I’m almost certain the first time I decide to floor the gas pedal from a stop, the base and Garmin will fly off the dash. It’s quite wobbly. There are very angles available, none of which are completely satisfactory. But I can live with the most perpendicular to the dash angle.So, I’ve overall rated this base four stars, because it seemed like the best available option I could find. I refuse to stick anything to my windshield, mainly because the windshield is already quite small. I fully expect to have to resort to some other type of adhesive for this base, probably sooner rather than later.

We had another type of gps holder which worked fine but came apart in 3 pieces. This one is flat when not using so great for travel. Very sturdy and does a great job.

Does a good job holding my gps.

First use was over the weekend with my GPS. Easy to put on the dashboard and thought I might have a problem with the dash being textured but no issues. I can see using this with my GPS or any phone, works very well. Sitting nicely on the dash and very stable while driving.

Magellan Road Mate 1440 doesn't seat securely because of power cord connection , However it can be wedged against front bottom lip of case ( REDNECK ENGINEERING) does seem to be fairly secure .Time will tell !
