Dependabilty
I ordered this pump after a lot of research for a high pressure pump for a fire fighting skid unit I was building. Shipping was good and packaged very well. Arrived with no damage. Installed it on my skid. I did read the other reviews and saw that others had found the Allen head machine screws that hold the manifold to the pump were loose. I checked mine and the other reviewers were right. All three were loose and one you have to access through the 1-1/2 discharge port. I tightened them and finished the skid unit. Engine and pump work very well.

Very well built pump, top of the line!
Ok this is a great pump but there are a few things to consider. First you will need to purchase your own battery because this pump is actually being sold to mount onto a vehicle or trailer that has it's own battery system. Also it really has no cage at all and if it will be used on it's own then you need to fabricate a mount/cage of some sort to protect it but when comparing this pump to other similar pumps in that price range I think that the Davey pump is the better quality hands down and buyer beware that if there is a bit of water in it when you get it, that is from it being tested at the manufacturer and not left over water from a previous buyer. More info to come after I get mine set up and working. So let's add the fact that the 3 allen cap screws/bolts that hold the exit manifold for the hoses were not tightened and were loose along with quite a few scuffs both on the bottom of the pump and engine and also on the pull starter shroud.......Starting to think that this actually was previously sold then resold to me!. Not a real happy camper here folks and we will most likely be sending it back along with filing a complaint with Amazons Cust. Service Dep.

Backup Rural Fire Protection.
This pump was installed as a standby fire pump, connected to our in-ground pool.It has a 1” x 300’ hose reel attached, and a separate valve for 100’ of 1-1/2” fire hose.We live in a rural area with limited fire protection - 1 truck with only 2 firefighters 3/4 mile away - but who are not allowed to enter a building until a second truck arrives from approximately 10 miles away. Being a former firefighter, I won’t stand back and watch if a fire breaks out.I fabricated a steel pallet to hold it and the hose reel, so it can also be loaded onto my truck for mobile use along with a 3-400 gallon tank during dry seasons. The only issue is with their quality control, as the main seal on the output bank blew out as soon as it was pressured. There are 3 Allen bolts - one in the 1.5” top port - check them before plumbing your lines. If it wasn’t for this - you’d really expect emergence equipment to be tested before shipping - it would be rated higher. Will see what it can do if it’s put to real use - with hopefully no other problems.
