You can hold it away from your ears.
I work with kids and during COVID I couldn't use a regular whistle. I now prefer this because I can hold it over my head, which broadcasts the sound better and saves my ears. I can leave it safely in it's storage pouch and it can still be heard the width of the play-ground, even on the lowest volume.

Works great!
This item works great. I am using it for my playground whistle. I wish there was more of a whistle sound but that just a preference.

Does the Job
It's good - does what it is meant to be used for. I use it in gym class. The tones are more of a different pitch of "chirps"... not different sounds.
