Belle Arti gesso plates are handmade in Italy and are suitable for various techniques such as oil, acrylic, pens, watercolor and ink. The extremely robust 8 mm thick poplar plywood floor is finished with a very smooth, absorbent acrylic gel. Thin surface is suitable for working on detail. It is highly absorbent so you can use oil when using oil painting. Not enough for use with genuine leather egg tempera, which should usually be absorbent jelly (done with rabbit skin adhesion and bleaching). If the surface is not absorbent enough, egg tempera paints can remove the first layer when you add another polish. Also available in a set of 10 at an extra discount.
