This is a great looking but if your laptop has a glossy screen the privacy filter sticks to it without the need of the sticky strips - sounds ok but the filter isn't perfectly flat so you end up with the look of a bubbly badly applied self adhesive screen protector. which is just annoying. The original black 3m had a dull side and a glossy side so the dull side doesn't stick to the screenI have tries anti static spray, and all types to clean it, remove all lint, static etc but it still self sticks to my screen. removed it so many times the sticky strips that are supposed to hold it to the screen are now useless. In short don't buy if you have a nice glossy screen

Very pleased and happy with what I bought, would definitely recommend it :)
I was not expecting a lot when I bought it, as I had bought another privacy filter in the past that I put it in the garbage after using it 2 times. This filter is perfect, it really helps my eyes not feeling very tired, and of course no one besides me can see my screen anymore. It is very clear, easy to put on the laptop. I would recommend it 1000% :)

Good screening properties (clean for the laptop user
Good screening properties (clean for the laptop user, nothing visible for the rest of the world), but mounting can be a little difficult.

Very effective
Very effective screen cover. Easy to remove and refit when needing to share screen. Highly recommended for travelers needing to work but protect their privacy.

Nice, but not sturdy
Gives good protection, but when dropped, the different layers of the filter tend to unfasten from each other. So, good, but tends to break. For my clumsy hands not the perfect choise.

This 3M High Security Privacy (Gold Version) Filter delivers all it claims. Prior to purchase the critical point is to ascertain whether your computer screen is a raised bezel or flush glass type, then check both the size (vertical and horizontal) of your screen. My version of this filter suits up to 15.4" screens which is curious as most new laptop screens in the 15" series are actually 15.6" wide. The UK 3M website offers a wizard and other help to select the right version.Fitting the screen is easy. I installed mine on an HP Spectre Touchscreen laptop. The filter can be trimmed to fit simply by cutting it and once sized it's attached to the screen by slide mounts/attachment clips, initially these need care in fitting, but once the job is done that's it. If you're unlucky enough to loose one or more mount/clip 3M will send you replacements for free via their website. In use the screen appears just as bright and vibrant with the filter on and in my case the touch screen sensitivity is good. I think the filter is inclined to improve the readability of the screen in strong sunlight. Privacy is now assured on my commute to London as the angle at which you can view the screen is quite tight in both horizontal and vertical planes but it doesn't cause any annoyance to me as the user. Initially, I had to gain confidence that people around me couldn't read the screen but you soon get used to it. When you fold the laptop the filter is fine too and the fixings seem secure. This privacy filter is easy to fit and effective, in this age of sensitive data it is a must for those that work during a crowded commute or on a plane etc.

3M High Security Privacy Filter
I work in a College and so always use a privacy screen at work - this stops people who come to my desk from seeing possible confidential documents and means I can work privately, even if our communal office is busy. This attaches easily; although, I must admit, that - as I often need to remove this so colleagues/students can see the screen - I usually just use a blob of sticky tack, so I can take this off and replace it quickly. Obviously, the enclosed attachments will enable this to fit better, but my solution works well for me.Check the size of your PC screen before ordering this. As long as you have the correct size, you will be fine. This filter means you can only see the screen clearly when you sit in front of it. There is a little reflection, and the screen looks a little darker, but I am so used to using these that I don't really notice. This is perfect if you use a laptop on trains as well, as it stops people peering over your shoulder. Good quality and works very well.

one of the best
FILTER=======We have a few gadgets around the house in our family and so I was quite pleased to try out this privacy screen. This is designed for the shape of a generic 15.4" laptop. As such it doesn't look as smart as the ones that are specific for an individual laptops.USE====I like to read on the train and I hate when I can feel people peer over my shoulder. The concept is similar to the screens some offices have: You can read straight ahead, but for a neighbour it's impossible. There's a niche for people who need their privacy and this fulfils that niche.SECURE=======I've noticed in some industries there is a need for additional security, such as if you work in finance, have clients in defence or have commercially sensitive work on your laptop. This effectively means your neighbour can't see what you're working on.No problems so far, I'll update the review if it develops any issues.
