Minn Kota1865108 AC Power Port-Black / MKR-21

Not like some cheaper ones that mearly clamp the cord end and often don’t fit standard cords. This one has a flange that the male cord end slides through the appropriate slots and eliminates the cord from slipping out. Second one I’ve bought.

When I added a trolling motor to our pontoon boat, I also added an onboard charger. This plug gives me a spot to hook up the electricity to that onboard charger and charge all of my batteries at once. It was not hard to install just have to drill the right size hole Push the plug into that hole and install the three mounting screws

The installation was super easy. The problem was that there was some flex when you plug in your extension cord. It’s made me wonder whether or not it was pushed in far enough. To remedy this, I put in some extra screws to decrease the play but the plastic is not strong enough to make it feel like our household outlet. I gave it four stars because it was very easy to install and I didn’t have to cut any cables.

This is a very handy upgrade to my boat. No more pulling the cable out or having it drop back into the hull.

I’m finding all these negative reviews amusing. Don’t treat it like your wife’s rescued dog and it’ll do exactly what it needs to do. More like OE than poor engineering. Know what you’re doing before you get in too deep. Thanks again Minn Kota! You’re doing just fine.

Super easy to install and no cutting of the cord which I like considering you never know if cutting the plug off your cord would void the warranty or not and also with the factory molded plug on the end of cord still feel like it makes the cord itself a little more water proof

No Question, this power port works very well and maybe works perfectly with a Minnkota product plug and I would buy again for sure.However. to make it work with "standard" Chinese made extension cords, other brands of trolling motors cords, appliances etc, , you have to dig deep into your toolbox for your Dremel and carving tools to shape the ends to fit the port. Every power cord looks at first sight identical but the plug body is slightly different in size , curves and shape.The lack off real Standardization and quality of our manufactures is mind boggling. Its not Minnkota alone, they build good products its. the overall ignorance of the system which makes it annoying for the customer, especially for those without the skills or tools to make it work.Another issue is the odd diameter of the Port. Hole Cutter sets come normally in 1/4" diameter increments. This port however is 1-7/8" diameter which forces you to buy an extra hole cutter which sets you back another 18 bucks.unless you want to butcher the fit
