Solid stereo at a reasonable price
I recently received the 10.1 version of this stereo. I installed it same day. The install was very straightforward. I have previously installed a few stereos, and this was on par with those previous experiences. So far, the CarPlay works flawlessly. I was even able to update the firmware and change the bootup logo to match my car's brand with a quick email to the PLZ customer service team. The fit and finish is pretty solid, especially at the price point. Doesn't feel cheap at all. I love that there is a physical volume knob. No noticeable lag and the touch screen is very responsive. I did add a wired mic as I thought the call quality was better that way. Only suggestion I would have is to have a 3d adjustment on the screen. It will tilt up/down and side to side, but you cannot adjust it clockwise/counterclockwise. Still looks great in the car and is close to where I want it but not exact. Having that additional adjustment would be icing on the cake. All of that said, for the price I am very happy with the product. It feels well-made and provided it continues to function I consider it a great purchase.

Solid Upgrade – Works Great in My Prius
I installed the PLZ car radio on my 2013 Prius and it has completely upgraded my driving experience. What I really like:• The volume knob is a simple but super helpful feature — much easier to use while driving than just touch controls.• The touchscreen is responsive and snappy, with no lag when switching between menus or apps.• Bluetooth connectivity is excellent — connects quickly and stays stable, whether I’m taking calls or streaming music.• The technical support is top-notch. I had a couple of setup questions, and their team responded within hours with clear, helpful answers. That kind of support is definitely appreciated.Overall, it’s a great value for the price and works perfectly with my Prius. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a solid, easy-to-use upgrade.

Wish I Bought This Sooner — Perfect Apple CarPlay Upgrade for My Forester!
High-Level Review:I absolutely wish I had bought this unit sooner. I would 10/10 recommend this unit. I purchased the PLZ MP-106 model, and it’s been fantastic. Wireless Apple CarPlay works flawlessly. I primarily use it for navigation and streaming Pandora, and the experience has been seamless. The built-in FM radio also works great with excellent reception and crystal-clear audio. The sound quality really surprised me. It’s much better than the factory stereo that came with my car. It's crisp and clear, even with the factory speakers. The unit also supports USB thumb drives or Micro SD cards for playing your own music or videos, which is a nice bonus. Another thoughtful feature is the hidden USB power port, which is perfect for discreetly charging your phone without cluttering the dashboard.Boot Screen Customization:One minor downside is that changing the boot logo isn’t super easy. However, PLZ support makes the process painless. I just emailed them a 1280x720 JPG of the image I wanted, and within a few hours, they sent me a firmware update with my custom boot logo included. Customer service responded very quickly.Subaru-Specific Installation Notes (2003 Forester):Installation was incredibly straightforward with a few Subaru-specific tips:1. I bought a 14-pin to 16-pin ISO radio adapter harness from Amazon. This allowed me to connect the PLZ stereo directly to the factory harness using the adapter without requiring soldering. It was truly plug-and-play. The total installation time was about 10 minutes.2. For Subaru Foresters with manual climate controls, you’ll need to disconnect two mechanical cable linkages underneath the center console before removing the old stereo. One is accessible from the driver’s side footwell and the other from the passenger’s side footwell. There’s a helpful video on a popular streaming platform titled “How to remove the Radio from Subaru Forrester” (yes, the title is misspelled) that walks you through the process.3. Pro Tip: Don’t forget to connect the radio antenna while you still have the unit accessible! I was so focused on testing Apple CarPlay that I forgot to plug in the antenna… which meant pulling everything apart again after I thought I was done.4. I haven't tried the reverse camera setup. I don't feel like I need it.Final Thoughts:Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. The PLZ MP-106 completely modernized my 2003 Forester with minimal effort. The wireless CarPlay functionality, customizable boot screen, and straightforward installation make this an incredible value for the price. I highly recommend it!
