For the price you cannot find a better trekking pole

Did my first hike with these trekking poles a day after I bought them. An 8 mile hike at Guadalupe Mountains National Park. For the price you cannot find a better trekking pole. The cork handles are of good quality and the foam grips just below, make it easy for quick grip adjustments without having to adjust the length of the pole constantly for various terrain. The poles did not slip under the weight of my 250 pound body. The rubber monster tips stay firm to the trekking pole and did not slip off, though often getting hung up between rocks. I do not use the tungsten tips as, I have found out here in the desert they never last to long on hiking poles. These poles handled my ascent and descent without any problems and felt very stable. The only downside is, I would have liked the hand straps to have a little more cushion. But that is a minor complaint. The price dropped $5 a day or two after I bought them so be sure to check the price as it will fluctuate. A well made trekking pole that I think is well worth the money spent.

Amazing sticks! Helps me a ton with a bad leg/back!

--Pros & Cons by Acid--Pros::. Very light weight! They look great! Came with multiple feet to tackle different types of terrains! The cork handle feels great, the first time I used them I felt a little warmth from them but since then it's been fine and always felt good and cool. The straps are high quality and nice and thick. I've never had these sticks collaps on me, not once. You do have to be careful when tightening plastic and metal pieces down because one tightening to far and you'll strip the plastic piece, so simply be careful! Always remember your sticks should be adjusted with your elbow against your side, hold hand straight so your arm is in a 90' angle. Adjust the sticks equally to this height and you'll experience maximum performance out of these sticks!Even my daughter was able to use these sticks correctly with them fully collapsed, so that's awesome!Cons::. Wish I had a second pair! Possibly a pair that came in women's color sets so the wife could have a fancy set like this one!Overall::. I would buy this again! I have a very bad back and left leg and being able to climb a few thousand feet with the help of these sticks is just amazing. Really takes the strain off my leg and I can appreciate that! So buy these and check em out if you really want some nice light weight sticks to start your Trekking career off right!

I have been hiking for only two years so I am pretty new to hiking

I USUALLY SKIP THE REVIEWS BUT THESE WORK!!! I have been hiking for only two years so I am pretty new to hiking. This summer I noticed that my fingers would swell during my hikes. They would swell so much that my wedding ring would feel like it was cutting my finger. All of my fingers were swollen but my ring finger was so swollen that I could not remove my wedding ring. I spoke with a Mountaineer about my fingers swelling and he advised that I use hiking poles. Granted I was reluctant to buy them(prideful) but I did and that was the best decision I made. On the latest hike I had the hiking poles in my bag until my finger started to hurt. I removed my ring adjusted the poles to the correct height and continued hiking. Within about ten minutes my hands felt brand new all the pain in my fingers were gone. That really surprised me. Now about the poles the strap they are good for safety feature but the loosen as you walk so I had to continuously tightening them. The cork handles were comfortable and absorbed all of the sweat from my hands. the premarked height adjustment were nice to have and easy to adjust. I left the small skinny rubber attachment on for this hike. One cam off and the other the I pushed the pole through it. That was definitely my fault. Overall these hiking poles kept my hand high and and the swelling down. For anyone living in the Seattle/Everett area Mount Dickerman kick my butt but I made it to the top with the assistance of these hiking poles.

Handle Separated from Pole

We purchased two pairs of these hiking poles to hike in the CA Sierra Nevada mountain range. After hiking about 10 miles, the cork handle in one pair separated completely from the pole so that it slid loosely up and down the pole; the other cork handle in the pair separated slightly revealing a gap between the top of the cork and the the plastic end of the pole. After returning from our trip, we contacted the seller, who told us some of the poles were manufactured with insufficient contact cement between the handle and pole. The representative asked us to apply contact cement to see if that would fix the problem. We purchased contact cement and followed the seller's instructions. However, we are planning a 65 mile hike in Sawtooth Mountain Range, Idaho, and we are concerned the poles may come apart on the trail. Also, where the wrist strap attaches to the pole is a loose end that gets in the way like a pesky tail you don't know what to do with. Other than the handle and strap issues, the poles are sturdy, securely locking and comfortable. The seller promptly responded to our email.

Adjusts easily

Easily adjusted to my height and are holding well. Excellent for my needs. I'm an older woman with a bad back and need the support while getting needed exercise.

Great deal on high-quality poles

For few dollars more than the most inexpensive poles, you can get cork handles that wick away moisture and don't get cold as plastic does, snap lever locks that are more secure than twist locks, and a nice assortment of tips and baskets.

These kept me standing!

I seriously would not have survived this last weekend in the mountains without them. I have always resented carrying one more thing like poles but I probably won't even day hike again without them! They withstood the test, too. I leaned on them when I was about to collapse, shoved them in scat to test for freshness, jabbed them in the ground just in time to catch me from a fall, and they held me right up. Love the cork handles! I actually thought these had shocks when I bought them but I wasn't sore in my wrists or anything after using them for three days. One of the smartest adventure purchases you can make! Good brand/pair to start with.
