An excellent addition to your natural dye library!
I first bought this as an ebook and then added a paper copy to my library when it became available. This is a great resource for truly natural dyeing. The author uses soy milk as a mordant instead of metal salts, so this is potentially one of the safer methods available. I have had great success with her avocado dyeing instructions and am really proud of the beautiful colors I was able to produce on wool yarn. These instructions are not for someone looking for a super quick project however, because some of the processes can take days. But in my opinion, you can't rush art and the time spent is well worth the results.

Great book!
I just love this beautiful book. Very straight forward instructions on how to dye fabrics without harmful chemicals. I have used it almost daily since I got it. Great job Rebecca!

Wonderful book
This slim volume is just what I needed to start me on my way with natural dying. I have read other books but only this one has made the process seem ‘natural’ and doable without a great deal of fuss. I’m so glad that the author has made a hard copy available.

Wonderful thorough book!
Loved the alternative approach in the book and am so glad I got it! I originally bought the ebook but also purchased the paperback as soon as it was available. As a new natural dyer, I had been looking for something that would break down some of the basic processes in a simple way and I think this definitely did it. This method has worked so well for me already! Thank you for creating something so lovely!

Yes you want it
I bought two books on natural dying and this was certainly the better of the two. Great images, great advice for a first time natural dyer.

Great Book
The only thing I want to caution you about is that the book is a small format with hard to read print if you have any eye issues or are of an age.

Author offers a different approach
Good book. I share the author's philosophy about using all natural and safe ingredients. She does not use heavy metal mordants (alum, etc.) But instead uses soy milk for mordanting. This book is geared towards cellulose fiber users.I wish the author had discussed the use of tannin as mordant. I emailed her with that question but did not get a response. In summary, it's a good book with info I haven't seen in any of the many other natural dye books I have read. Well worth my money even though it's a relatively short read.
