It kinda feels like it’s foil-lined. It has a notch at the top to tear and I haven’t ever had any problems opening it. Also, I don’t think it could open in normal life by itself. My boxes have been squished several times b/c Amazon put them in padded envelopes. The dressings are never damaged or crumpled. Everything is written on the individual dressing pkgs so you really don’t need the box if damaged. (But a lil tape will fix box!) My last box of these, ordered prob a month ago, have an expiration date of 11/2025 and is easily found on each individual dressing pkg. They have plenty of hydrogel in their pkgs. I think this product would stand the test of time, i.e. storage, really well!
