Wide and comfortable
They're wide, they're comfortable and they're stylish in a 70s tennis shoe kind of way.

Better than Vivobarefoot and cost less
I have owned Vivobarefoot shoes and I like the styling, but the shoe always feels too stiff for daily use. The Xero Kelso had the styling that I wanted with a softer flexibility to the sole. I wear them for everything from going to to the store, to exercising and even going to dance classes. My only con are the flat cotton laces, which were too chunky for the shoes and collected dirt at a faster rate than the rest of the shoe so I replaced them with a thin, round, no-tie elastic lace in a more aesthetic gray/white color to match the shoe better.

Great shoes. Terrific company.
These Xeros were a splurge for me, but I was tired of quickly blowing through the soles and heels of cheaper gym shoes. As soon as I tried on the Xeros, I loved how light they felt and wore them nonstop (although it was a small adjustment walking without arch support). One of the decorative white side laces tore out within a couple months. I submitted a help ticket, and the company immediately and quickly solved my problem. Xero's comfortable shoe and warranty made me a permanent customer. My only "complaint" is they don't make a zero drop dress shoe. (Yet?)

The sole of these shoes are of low quality.
I’m not the type to write a negative review but these shoes aren’t worth the money compared to the white version with a brown sole. I purchased both and wore them equally. This color with the white soles didn’t last a year. I contacted the manufacturer and after a week of back and forth emails they suggested I’ve walked over 5,000 miles and offered me a discount instead of replacing them. I didn’t hike in them, I didn’t run in them, I wore them to work and back. Water started coming through the bottom of the shoe on wet, rainy days. Again the white pair is perfectly fine at this time. Horrible customer service in my opinion. Save your money and invest in a different pair of black barefoot shoes because you will ultimately be disappointed if you expect a pair of shoes that cost over $100 to last longer than a year.

Could never find a size that worked for me.
I ordered the Xero Kelso because of all the positive reviews. I first ordered an 11.5 but found them to be just a tad short. I sent them back and ordered a size 12. The 12s were too big and a bit floppy. Seemed like a huge difference between the 11.5 and 12. Then I noticed that the left and right shoes were a bit different in shape in the toe box. The right shoe was wider than the left.I have no doubt that these are quality shoes provided one can find the right size…and two shoes of the same size. I may try again down the road after another brand of shoe I did end up buying wears out because I need a high quality, zero drop, wide toe box court shoe for pickleball.
