This was the first time I had used this type of curling wand. It takes a few tries to get used to, but it is simple enough. I suggest a heat resistant glove, which doesn't come with it. You will start with the wand at the top of the section of hair, and wrap the hair around the barrel with your free hand.

Q: How long should you hold your hair in the curling wand for

My hair doesn't need a lot of heat. I suggest hold it at first for a time good for you and your hair, if after, not satisfied, do again, hold a longer than your first attempt, and continue until you are please.

Q: Is it worth starting?

I have no issue with this iron.
