Works Well
I am using two D1 Mini's within Home Assistant to show water usage in my home. One is connected to a water flow sensor to get the data and the other is used to drive a Hailege 0.91" SSD1306 IIC I2C OLED LCD Display 128x32 3.3V/5V for AVR PIC STM32 Arduino display.

Why so many fails with these boards
The 3 that worked out of the 5 I bought work well but always failures when buying these boards.I bought 5 of the d1 mini, 5 light sensors and 5 mmwave detectors, I got 2 fully working boards the rest were fails. 40% success rate is not good

Work, but….
The ones I have used so far function ok but they don’t appear to wake from deep sleep.

Not working
I tried all 5 of these devices and it appears that they are not getting any power from the USB-C cable, then I spotted Edd's comment about these boards not having the correct resistors to sense how much power to deliver. Does anyone know how to add these resistors to get the damn things to work? I have bought so many electronic devices from Amazon that just didn't work, it's so frustrating. It's about time Amazon tested these devices prior to making them available for sale.
