Awesome piece of kit, great for thru axels and keeps the tool steady on the spline

This is a quality tool for removing/installing Shimano cassettes to a freehold. The guide pin helps keep the tool in the right alignment especially during removal as a lot of force is needed. Pin is not removable so only good on through axles. Park tools are definitely value for money

This tool is perfect and fits well when removing and replacing the lockring on a Sram cassette I would recommend this tool which won't come away from the cassette when putting pressure on the nut.

This is a nice piece of kit works very well, but doesn’t fit Shimano Integra 11 speed cassette on my Canyon as the pin is too thick. Had to buy a second one with a thinner pin. Would be nice if you could remove the pin or if it came with two sizes. Maybe I didn’t read the compatibility so I’ve given it four stars because it’s very nice piece of kit

I stripped the end millimetre of the knurls off my old FR-5 Park Tool tool. It predates thru axles by 20 years and consequently unless the axle is removed there is only a small section of the tool that engages with the splines in the cassette. I had removed, replaced and tightened the 11 speed Shimano cassette without realising that I'd omitted to include one of the spacers. This meant the tool had even less to engage on, and what little there was stripped as I tried to remove the cassette. The new one arrived quickly and it is purpose built for the job. The removable blue centre guide (It is secured by a small hex bolt) fits perfectly into the thru-axle and the tool engages fully with the cassette's splines; thus the task of loosening and tightening the cassette is easy to do. A modest price to pay for such an essential maintenance tool.

Park Tools are reassuringly expensive, they just work. I’ve a number of other tools for cassette lock rings, but they always struggled with my SRAM 12sp cassette. The 12mm centre pin on this one did the trick as it ensures the tool is well seated, giving better purchase on the lock ring. Works fab across the various road, MTB and gravel bikes I have with Shimano and SRAM cassettes.

Perfect for removing Shimano disc brake lockrings and cassettes. As always, it is a high-quality product from Park Tool. The guide pin is a great feature as it keeps the tool perfectly aligned and prevents it from slipping. Definitely recommended for any home mechanic.

I already possess a Park Tool FR5 tool but without the pin to reduce the chance of slipping and I'd rather not leave the skewer in place on my turbo trainer whilst loosening or tightening my cassette, hence the purchase. Usual Park Tool quality and the through axle sized pin feels solid enough and does the job.

I hadn’t used the tool at the time of writing this review, however, as is typical of Park Tool, it is of high quality and will no doubt work well for a long time.

Awesome centers itself and works great

J'avais des difficultés à retirer la cassette d'un vieux vélo et ce petit outil m'a grandement facilité la tâche. C'est un outil coûteux, mais il en vaut la peine. Ma cassette était très coincée en place, je suis donc reconnaissant de la facilité avec laquelle elle a été retirée après l'achat de cet outil.
