Gel-Venture 5 vs Gel-Venture 6
As a retired nurse with a history of plantar fasciitis, I've learned to look at trainers differently. Prevention is the best way to go and that means wearing a good shoe that compliments a size specific insole that is designed for your specific foot issue. I've worn Asics for years and have purchased 3 pairs in the Gel-Venture series. These shoes offer great stability, are super durable and house my favorite insole (Spenco Polysorb Cross Trainer) well. Practically speaking, a shoe is only as good as it's insole and most insoles are made for the average foot. As a person with abnormally high arches, I find that regardless of the price, no shoe is going to offer the arch support I need. I've tried expensive trainers (Brooks Reverie) but these are a far more comfortable and stable shoe for walking. I average somewhere between-15-20 miles per week on asphalt and my Gel-Venture 5s lasted 18 months. In comparing the Gel-Venture 5 to 6, the 6 has (1) a slightly more rounded toe which results in more toe room (2) less padding on the tongue (3) a deeper tread (4) feels a half size larger and (5) more padding on the heal. Personally, I prefer the Gel-Venture 6. In regards to sizing, I wear a 6.5 in shoes, 6.0 in sandals and found the 6.5 in this shoe accomodates thick socks comfortably. Wore them for the first time today and walked 6 miles in total comfort.

Do not recommend! Description below.
I wrote ASICS about this shoe, the venture 6. I’m with the other reviewers that think maybe amazon purchases are knockoffs as opposed to buying from an ASICS store, due to it being so uncomfortable. I would compare it to walking on concrete barefoot. Another reviewer mentioned she can only wear ASICS made in a certain country, and that the ASICS made in certain places were made cheaper or something. This shoe reminded me of a Walmart tennis shoe that won’t hardly break in. ASICS told me there are possibly knockoffs sold on amazon, and recommended the nimbus as their most cushioned shoe. The venture 6 I ordered here was comfy enough around my foot, but the removable insole was very thin and not supportive. Under the insole the material where your foot sits was hard plastic or nylon in a screen pattern.

Great for High Arches!
These are my new favorite running shoes (I switched over from Saucony ISO Triumph 2). Not only are they comfortable, but they are inexpensive. As a runner with high arches, and as one who rolls her ankles even on flat surfaces, these are fantastic.p.s. I usually wear a size 10 in regular, everyday shoes, and a 10.5 in running shoes. I got 10.5 in these and they fit great. Also, I usually have to wear orthotics due to my high arch sitch, and I have not used them yet in these shoes.

Must Have!!!!
My favorite sneaker. I have flat feet and suffer from plantar fasciitis. I bought my first gel venture 6 from DSW because I was in so .much pain and this sneaker is so amazing that I got another from Amazon. It is the only sneaker that gives my foot enough support that I don't feel pain. I have one for daily wear and one for the gym and I can be on my feet all day at work plus workout without feeling like I'm dying or my feet are going to fall off. I have recommended these to my family and bought the men's one for my fiancé and he loves it too.Bottom line: get it, your feet will thank you

Comfy for running, I just have long and skinny feet
I bought these shoes as recommended to me by people who actually run sometimes. I was running more and my crappy old sneakers were doing nothing but bringing me pain. These shoes are so amazing, I frequently wear them out to work and school (and I NEVER wore sneakers for anything other than exercise). They are lightweight but comfortable. My knees haven't hurt since I've been wearing them (and they did with my old sneakers). I'm almost always an 8.5 in shoes, and an 8 would have been too small. I have narrow feet (long and skinny feet), so I have to pull the laces really tight to have them fit comfortably. It's okay though, and they still look and feel great.

Great Shoe, Size Runs Large
These are great running shoes. Work well on both trail and road running surfaces. Very comfortable, plenty of room in the toe box. My only complaint is that Asics recommended that I purchase a size 9 shoe, because I have purchased their Tri Noosa Gel 10's in a size 9. But the Asics Gel Venture 6 runs way too large. I returned the nine and repurchased the 8.5 shoe, but even they were too large - especially if you're someone like me who has one foot a half size larger than the other. Size 8.5 generally works for me, but these had to be returned as well. I finally bought the size 8 shoes, and they are fine. Just took a little while to get there. I guess sometimes shopping for running shoes can be more like a marathon than a race. 😉👟👍

Read their return policy!
Read their return policy. I wouldn’t buy from them again. Box arrived completely falling apart. This particular style of ASICS seems to run a bit small and since it was less than $75 they apparently won’t take it back ...nothing less than $75 returnable. It was difficult to understand their customer service rep... sounded like he just woke up and basically just wrote me off; so I’m stuck with an I’ll fitting pair of shoes.

Best shoes for walking, vacation, etc.
Ordered these for a weeklong trip to Washington, DC and they were amazing! I always used to order a new pair of Skechers memory foam for trips to Disney but from now on I’ll be sticking with ASICS. Very nice quality and stylish looking. I love the colored bottom soles so they don’t look dirty so quickly. Not too heavy either, which I was concerned about. I have very flat feet, somewhat narrow, size 11-11.5 (ordered a 12 in case of swelling and they were great), I’m 280 lbs, and I’ve had a fractured cuboid bone within the past year. These shoes had all the support and cushion I could have wanted, my feet never got sore even after walking 35+ miles in 4 days. I would recommend those socks with the little extra fabric behind the heel that prevent the sock from slipping down into the shoe as I did notice my normal socks would slide down a bit and the shoe would rub the back of my ankles but not enough to bother me.

Great for slim feet. So good for knees!
I did loads of research on the type of running shoe I needed to protect my knees and for high arches. I'm a size 7 but my feet are quite wide so the 7 was a bit tight, and not to be goldilocks about it but the 7.5 are a bit too long. So these are a bit narrow in style, but they do the job. Saying that, they are great on my knees and arches. I've been on plenty of road and trail runs and so far they do stand up to great value for money and really comfortable. They're not the best looking kids on the block but keep running and no-one will notice!! If they made a wider model I'd be sold on a running shoe for life.

Best running trainers so far!
I was worried that the trainers would not fit but they do and perfectly. I use them for running and they are very comfortable and have great support too. The pictures of product are realistic; they are exactly as expected based on the online image. I also love the colour.

Size came up just a bit small.
I ordered a half size up so 5.5 instead of my usual size 5. Still a bit snug hurts my arches because my my feet feel a bit scrunched up. I don't think I can return them since I've walked in them outside.Otherwise Asics are a great brand of sport shoe.

These are counterfeit
The poorest quality counterfeit goods I have seen. Appealing that this product is being sold on Amazon. It took time & energy to purchase this product & it was obvious on opening the box that these were not ASICS trainers
