Lovely 27UD59P
The 27UD59P (pictured above) arrived well packaged. Very easy to put together - not tools needed. The Screen can be angled, height adjusted and rotated with ease. I've been using a Dell 2560x1440 for a few years. I have problems with the Dell - its colour is slightly uneven and there's baclight bleed at the edges. No dead pixels. However, this LG screen is way better. The colour is uniform, no backlight bleed and no dead pixels. It's a clean screen.Adjustment can be done via the onscreen joystick which is located just behind the LG logo at the bottom of the screen - run your hand along the bottom there. It's easy to operate and easy to adjust settings. Certainly better than touch sensitive hidden pads. There's also software to allow you to asdjust the monitor on screen. This Onscreen Control software has many more functions: for multiple monitors, how the screen is divided for multiple windows plus colour, contrast, and game settings, etc.Using Win 10 without scaling is fine but you can choose scaled text for easier reading.I use an iMac 5K that uses an LG screen which looks superb. This LG 27UD59P looks almost as good. It lacks auto adjutsment for the ambient light but that easily adjusted on screen. The clarity is very good. Photos in Lightroom etc look sharper. Games have a crispness to them too. I'm using a Zotac Extreme 1080 which is a few years old now but will do 4K at 60fps on most games.Overall this is a lovely monitor.

Lack of Warranty Service from LG
Had an issue with Freesync not working across different PC and GPU (RX 580, 5700XT, 3060 Ti to name a few). Tearing would still occur constantly but differently with Freesync enabled.I contacted LG several times who never dealt with the issue. They were 'very' conversational across many calls, but kept focusing on me having the 'wrong GPU or settings'. I had to explain that I checked for advice on forums. Downloaded the Freesync/Gsync demos and that Freesync was faulty on this monitor. Each time they would conveniently forget to contact me back or process a repair etc. This experience does put me off the brand. The Monitor itself is decent hence the 2 stars but do not count on LG helping much.

Not the item pictured
This is the LG 27UD59-W - the image is incorrect as is the product number. You can see lower in the details the colour is grey - this is the cheaper non-height adjustable version. We sent the first one back but they sent it again so guessing mislabelled.

Good with video
LG makes a bewildering variety of monitors, often with little to distinguish between them. This is a high-resolution monitor that excels with video and games. The moving image is sharp with well-saturated colours. It is, however, less well suited to general internet use or word processing, or indeed anything that has a white background. There is a noticeable yellow cast down the sides that is only really apparent with white, such as found in word processing or web browsing. This is the second LG monitor I have had which has had this problem. I suspect quality control is quite poor.Because of the high resolution, some software packages will have issues with text and icons appearing very small and you may need to use windows scaling feature to make them more user friendly.

Not the prettiest monitor, but produces a very good image
Got this monitor to accompany my Thinkpad for web development and design, and I'm pleased with its quality.Quick review: Not the prettiest monitor, but produces a very good image and comes with nice bonuses like included cables, integral speakers, and a good joystick based OSD.Setup is extremely simple - secure the handy thumb screws (pictured) and slot the monitor into the stand. The stand itself allows height adjustment and some tilt, although it isn't flexible to the extent of allowing portrait mode. It should suit most desk setups. There's a cable tidy, which can be removed so you don't need to loop cables through it retrospectively. The monitor is factory calibrated, and I haven't noticed any major aberrations in its levels or colour reproduction. Another review mentions a yellow tint to the whites, but that isn't evident on mine. It's possible that you'll have different results with different panels. For me, designing for the web rather than print, it's good enough. The 60hz response time is also good enough - some gamers may prefer higher refresh rates, but I expect there are very few computers that can drive 4k graphics beyond 60hz. Viewing angles are solid as you'd expect from an IPS panel. The 4k resolution definitely enhances the experience of editing designs and photos. Vector graphics and fonts look super sharp. 27" is a good size for 4k, in my opinion, and it's ideal for having two windows open side by side - eg: a code editor and a site. The OSD menu is laid out in a generally sane way and I like the little joystick used to navigate it. Much better the the vertical row of buttons on my other monitors. The monitor is very plain looking, which is fine by me, since I only really care about the screen. Seen next to my Dell Ultrasharp with its infinity edge bezels, it does look a little outdated, though. Thicker bezels are definitely a practical drawback if you intend to use multiple monitors.Overall, this is a good entry to 4k displays for me.

Great picture but one major flaw
Pros: Great picture, superb quality image, no flicker, no latency, no dead pixels, easy to use control system, well placed ports.Cons: the standard VESA monitor fitting doesn't work. LG have recessed the VESA mounting screws into the socket used by their proprietary slot-and-screw stand. The socket is 2mm too small width-wise for a standard VESA mounting, despite the screw holes being in the right place. This is a dreadful design flaw for an otherwise superb monitor and renders it useless in most multi monitor set-ups.A dreadful shame, poor design review means a well priced, high quality monitor is totally let down by a small, but crucial detail.
