Dell 451-11599 XPS 14 15 17 L401x L501x L502x L702x 6 Cell 56Wh Battery

As others, I was suspicious about all the cheap "Dell genuine" batteries going around at half this price so decided to plunge. I have compared it to my existing Dell original battery and almost all the markings and numberings are the same. I installed it easily as you would expect and it booted without any BIOS messages of incompatibility that you sometimes see on duds.After first boot, on the Dell Power Meter it showed 46 minutes/25% charge. This battery has lasted nearly 3 years - with very limited use, as my laptop is nearly alway plugged into the mains. It lasts about 1 + 1/2 to 2 hours on a full charge. Today it has died. Okay, so nothing lasts forever, but to purchase the same battery with a 40% price increase! This is the whole IT industry in a nutshell.I blew the dust off my dictionary and looked up the word: Extort. It means to obtain from a person by force, threat, or intimidation. I'd like to amend this dictionary entry and add my own definition: To leave the customer no other option than the purchase of a new £1,200 laptop.

The battery arrived as per order acceptance prediction and was very well protected by the packaging.The item looked identical to the three year old battery that it was to replace, including all the text annotations and detail features.After three weeks' usage, all the indications are that it is holding its charge and powering the computer just as did the original battery.

I purchased and returned one of these. I purchased because the description states it is compatible with Dell 17" laptops including the L702x and I need a replacement for the L702x. It was not a fit for my L702x, and as it is a relatively small battery it is hard to imagine it being used for any 17" laptop.(the service from the company was reasonable)

After about one year, although this battery is supposed to be an original DELL battery my laptop gives me a warning, saying that battery is not genuine and it should be replaced with an original battery. I take it off and put it back in and most times this resolves the issue. I ordered this as a backup for my original one. I am now using that one exclusively, and I never had any similar warning

Works as advertised. No bios errors or problems.Update. This battery was charged 6 times then put into my laptop bag as a spare. it now shows 5 error lights and wont hold a charge. Although the battery was bought a couple of years ago it has only been charged and discharged 6 times. Not impressed especially as it wasn't cheap.

Mostly my fault for thinking that this one was the right one for my laptop, and it certainly arrived very propmptly. To all intents and purposes it should have been OK but my laptop is a a bit more than a usual one. I think this time I have ordered the right one....

I've been using my power lead on a duff battery for many months now and finally decided to get one of these.Ordered Monday, arrived Wednesday - standard delivery. Looks exactly the same as the original, and after its first charge has lasted between 4-6 hours. Very easy to take out the original battery, and click in the new one. It's made by Sanyo and passed the Dell Support Centre battery check.Every bit as good as the original,and a real treat to be on battery power again!
