The Morrowind Prophecies: Official Guide to the Elder Scrolls III

The definitive guide to TESIII:Morrowind
Playing games from a previous generation can be rewarding and difficult. With each iteration of The Elder Scrolls series, it's become easier for the casual player to become a part of immersive, enchanting worlds, and some of the challenge has been removed. Morrowind is a prime example. If you step into this game having only played Skyrim or Oblivion, you're going to have a bad time. Character creation is so involved that if you choose the wrong answer on your quiz, you could end up useless. There is no exiting from speech options, Cliff Racers want to decapitate you, using a map is essential as there is no HUD with a compass and quest markers, the list goes on.If you want to play this game to its full potential, this guide is an essential component. It contains detailed maps, character creation tips with stat points for each race, complete charts of gear specs, quest and NPC guides... everything you need to help acclimatize yourself for this challenging game. Its writing style is engaging and witty, and it is a joy to comb through and learn extra tidbits of lore. Please note that this edition is for the base game only, and does not include the guide for the expansions "Tribunal" and "Bloodmoon".

Step by step directions makes this guide more like, well
Do you need a Morrowind guide in 2016? That depends. If you want google earth level detail full color, use the Morrowind section of the UESP website. Do you want more specific directions then, "Go east, N'wah." Which is common in the game? Then this guide is for you. Step by step directions makes this guide more like, well, a guide as opposed to an know-everything-instantly style of guidebook. This is NOT to imply that the book is lacking content, as it pretty much tells you everything an average player would need to know. It has the damage, attack speed, enchant value, and Drake value of weapons. Does it give you an algebraic formula for calculating how often you hit? No.What I'm trying to say is it's a great guide for people who need a guide, but don't want absolutely everything explained to them. Also, Peter Olafson's writing is amazing. The entertainment value of the book is awesome.

terrible game guide
30 pages devoted to the main quest/story with minimal screenshots and lots of text, and the rest is useless filler like: wasted pages on character creation with no practical suggestions; a hundred pages on side quests with text taken from the game rather than advice on how to complete them; no index!

Enthralling
Although Morrowind is over 10 years old, there are still hundreds of hours of quests. It is especially well suited for older computers and those modern ones with integrated graphics. This guide is invaluable to play this game, giving much detail not available in the official guide. It is strongly recommended, but difficult to find since it is long out of print.

Easier to find answers on the net.
Reads like vcr instructions, but does have all the quests. Hard to find what you're looking for.

Helpful guide
Best book to read. Even if you're just there for the pictures. It's a wonderful guide.

Good for a Collector
If you like the game you will love this. Its got everything you might want to lookup about the game .Although to be fair to readers,as the game is getting older, so the guide will be,and it is being replaced by better free guides if you search for them online .

Very good game guide!
This is a very good game guide it explains every inch of the game. It is jam packed with information and help and is a must have for serious TES3 players. I have been playing Morrowind since its release in 2002 and didn't get the guide until this year (2012). Wow it is helpful. Over my time playing the game I have probably played 400-600 hours of Morrowind as it's a very addictive game but there is information in here which I didn't even know so it's a very good guide.5/5

Nostalgia hit
Bought purely for collection/nostalgia purposes. It's a really nicely put together book, very dense in information. Shame it's not quite up the the print quality of modern guides (it's in black and white and not on the best paper), but if you're looking at this to pad your TES collection or to have a flick through, it's obviously ideal.

The guide to the BEST ELDER SCROLLS GAME (to date)
They may call it cheating, but for me a guide is a perfect way for a second play, why????. Simple, no matter how long you play YOU will always miss something, maybe it's the gamer in me but I want to say I played the WHOLE game, every nook and hole was explored, every mission complete. I completed and conquered the game, thanks to the guide. Anyway if you are gamer with a strategic mind, you would have already purchased this, a must have for any Elder Scrolls fan.
