South Shore Gloria Headboard with Lights, King 78-Inch, Black Oak and Black Marble

This bed is beautiful once put together. I saw a lot of reviews where the product arrived broken, damanged, or with missing pieces, but I guess we got really lucky! There was only 1 small chip on 1 piece that once put together is covered by the mattress. The rest came out of the box without any scratches and there was plenty of padding. It did take my husband and I about 2 hrs to complete with a 3 year old in the way. There are no words in the instructions so my advice is to pay attention to the very first instruction which shows you the way you will need to group each piece. The box was extremely heavy to take upstairs to the master bedroom but once put together the headboard was easy for us to move!! Great addition to our master bedroom! Lastly, the screws to attach the headboard to the bed frame are not included, but the headboard is heavy and sturdy enough to stand up on its own and our mattress/box springs/ frame were heavy enough to push up against it.

For the price, this headboard turned out nice after putting it together. The box it came in was not damaged. I didn't have any help moving the box from my garage to my bedroom, so I opened the box and brought one piece at a time to my bedroom. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. The screws and the predrilled holes were perfectly aligned when I screwed them in.The gap or clearance area for your hand to turn on and off the light fixture is very narrow. As such, it is difficult to turn on and off the light fixtures. The bulbs that came with the light fixtures looks like the E27 at 25watts each.This headboard did not come with bolts, nuts and washers to connect it to a metal bed frame like the SmartBase King Foundation. So I went to OSH to get the 5/16"-18-1-1/4" Round Head Combo machine screws, and matching washers and nuts.

We spent a lot of time reading the reviews for the South Shore Head Board. We finally decided to purchase it on Amazon. The package arrived in 3 days which was pretty fast. Yes, the package was heavy. There was no noticeable damage in shipping. You will need a lot of room to spread all of the parts out and put together. Maybe 5' x 5' or a little more. It did take about an hour and half to assemble. The directions are a little confusing and I am very good at putting things together. Some of the pieces were marked others were not. Yes, it is all made of pressboard. Yes both of the light bulbs they sent were broken. Honestly, not sure why they even send the light bulbs seems like something the consumer would provide. I actually used LED bulbs and like the amount of light and low heat they put off. There was a small mark on the Grey wood area but, I'll live with it. it took two of us to put it in place on the king bed frame. Bolt for mounting were not included. Also needed to drill new holes to mount to frame. Not a big deal. I had one thin piece left over so I know I missed something, but like the looks of it. Seems solid does not make any noise which is important to us. I would probably buy again, I do really like the look and would have paid more for a little better construction. I done expect it to last forever but, it is good for now. .

Arrived on time and I was actually really surprised about how fast it was said to arrive. Like all the other reviews, crazy freaking heavy and you might need a second person to assemble. The instructions look confusing, but they're actually real easy to read (if you have someone that knows what they're doing (I am not said person haha)). There were minor cosmetic problems, but nothing that'll bring this review to 4 stars. I really was surprised about the quality of this head board and the lights are beautiful! I was skeptical because some of the reviews, but if you're good with instructions I'd say just get this dang monster.

Very disappointed for the price I expected better wood quality and hardware . Binding panel brackets were white plastic that broke upon tightening instead of metal brackets. The trim on the middle panel was held by tiny nails which was warped and the nails wouldn't hold the trim. Had small scratches and nicks through out the panels which explains why there was a brown colored marker included with the hardware. I buy a lot on Amazon and have never given this low of a review but I'm very disappointed because this piece I chose was to finalize new rugs installed and an adjustable bed that I also ordered on Amazon which I'm expecting this week to be delivered. At this point I don't even want to start a return because for one the packaging was so heavy to carry and move and don't want to go through re -installing a new headboard. I will need to buy wood glue to bind the trim attached to the board in the middle of the headboard and the replace all of the plastic brackets with metal ones. Not a task I wished to tackle for the price. Not happy, well only happy in the dark where I can't see all the imperfections.
