Basic Mandarin Chinese - Speaking & Listening Practice Book: A Workbook for Beginning Learners of Spoken Chinese (Audio Recordings Included)

I was hoping the CD would have the same content as the book, so I could hear how the Pinyin words are pronounced in addition to learning sentence structure, but the CD only overlaps the book in very random areas. So you read the book and don't know how anything is pronounced, while you listen to the CD and don't know what anything means. I would not recommend this as a standalone book for beginners.
