Up-Date: Monday, 4th, November, 2024After a helpful exchange with the suppliers I have worked with them to solve the problem and found good use for the light. While I could not pose the arm and light in exactly the way I wanted I have found a solution as shown in the second photo (4) where the light can be turned off the axis of the arm if it is posed vertically, hanging down or stood up at the end of the arm. I did originally note that the rotation joint cannot be locked but in this position, up or down (4), it is not critical unless you want absolute identical positioning for your work every single time, but I’m not that perfectionist. This should solve the majority of the specialist video recording and photography that I might need.Congratulations on the suppliers for their support throughout this process.--------------------------(Original review before working with the suppliers to address my challenges.)First thing I will say is that the arm is good enough for most if not all jobs, the light has plenty of power and options for all your lighting needs, but if you want to make more professional use of the arm and light there was one flaw I found (see picture).At upper the end of the arm the light is mounted on what I will call a finger. This finger has plenty of movement in the vertical (1) and has a rotating joint for the light to be rotated 360 degrees around the finger’s axis (2). What it lacked was an effective way to rotate the lamp at right-angles off that axis (3). If you want to position the light at an angle away from the axis and the line of the arm you cannot do it unless you add a ball joint or something similar.A ball joint might have worked except for one problem, the 360 degree axis rotation on the finger (2) cannot be locked. That 360 degree joint is the only point on the entire arm which cannot be locked. They do provide a nice tool and a series of nuts along the arm to lock it into position except at this one point, and this is where it fails.If you do attach a ball joint to mount the light and then try to reposition the angle of the light off the axis then that 360 degree rotation joint will turn on its own accord and cause the light and your camera to droop down.If you don’t need these high standards of positioning then this, for the arm and for the remote control, should be great for all your needs.

Put it together very easily.Wheels and tripod are excellent quality.The arm is low to medium build, nothing like RODE microphone arm which is solid.The light is literally very light in weight for obvious reasons, you don't want tipping. Multiple functions for different brightness. Surprisingly good product, due to so many cheap naff items on the market it's nice to see something created well. It might just be 4 components stuck together and luck some are very good quality. Either way, after day 1, would recommend. I'll update this review after a few weeks of usage.

Really good sturdy lamp, phone holder is perfect, and it has a good range of motion and angles

Just started doing YouTube videos and needed a ring light to help me with the lightening. This ring light did the job it says. It’s easy to assemble, bright, sturdy in the table once attached and can be manoeuvred easily

I love it. The light intensity can be changed, stable and easy to use. It also looks beautiful. So happy with my purchase

Edit: the seller reached out to me and offered a refund or alternative item, which is fabulous customer service. They have also since reached out to me again and we have ascertained that my table has a slight lip which isn't suitable for the clamp, and they are going to update their product description. So this would be great I'm sure if you have a totally flat table.I've waited a few weeks before reviewing this. The light itself is good, as is the phone clamp. However, the clamp for the stand is so shallow that it can't grab enough of the table/desk you're trying to attach it to, so it falls off a lot, ruining your filming. I've had it fall on me so many times and I'm so annoyed I wasted £30 on this. If the clamp was bigger it would be great, but this let's it down massively.

The lamp is no good for illuminating a bench as it makes a bright ring around an object being photographed.

I have been wanted to get a phone stand for months ever since discovering the Canvas lamp on TikTok however I didn’t want to dish out £120 on the lamp they were selling.This is an amazing alternative. It’s cheap but fairly sturdy, the light from the ring light is adjustable in terms of brightness and temperature, and the mechanisms for securing it to the table are strong! I am using this to film hours of painting videos using my iPhone 13 and it doesn’t appear to droop over long periods of time which is great if you want to film Timelapse’s.The only thing I’d warn people about is that if you are planning on painting using watercolour; positioning the stand close to the paper can result in the water reflecting the light which can make painting quite tricky. Asides from that, it’s a really fab alternative to a super expensive product!
