I bought this to replace a movement in a child’s clock that was ticking too loud, very noticeable at night time. This was advertised as ultra silent, and I have to say, full marks on that. If you hold it close to your ear, you can hear a very faint noise, but hold it a foot away and it is totally silent. However, it didn’t come with the nut and washers displayed in the picture, not a problem for me as I was replacing an existing one, so I re-used those parts without any problem. But if you are not replacing an existing movement, beware you will be missing those parts. Also, I was replacing a 12888 movement with a 12888 movement, so I would have expected the hands to push fit on without a problem, but the hole in the hands was slightly too small, so I had to ream them out a little to get them to push fit on the new movement. So it was a bit of a faff but it is successfully installed now.
