Definitely a great purchase
This book is quite comprehensive. It has great step by step instructions along with pictures. The author gives good useful advice about product selection, as well as alternative materials to use. It is a great resource for current wire designers as well as beginners. This book is full of pictures and is a wonderful source of inspiration for design ideas. The material is presented in a way that is easy to follow for the novice as well as the more experienced wire artist.

A must have for your library
I've just started wire wrapping more jewelry over the last year and I wasn't sure about purchasing this book, but I'm so glad I did.I love the included DVD, it's nice to actually see how some of the techniques are done. Sharilyn is a wonderful instructor. I always wanted to try twisting wire with a drill but I wasn't sure how or what would happen, and that is in the video. It looked super easy, so I gave it a try and it was!!I learned a lot, all I have to do now is find some time to go and play with the new ideas I have. I highly recommend this book!

Beautiful addition for a beginner!
Absolutely love this book! Just enough information for a beginner to wrap their arm around it. To my surprise there is a dvd included to help me see the process as well as read it. So very pleased that I purchased this item.

AN AWESOME BOOK!
This book starts off with a bang! Instead of the usual boring basic loops or jump rings, this book starts with bead connectors, decorative bead dangles, cage beads and coil-wrapped bead connectors ... even free-form knotless netting AND worm beads!!! Then we have the chapters that are divided into Earrings, Bracelets, and Necklaces & Pendants. Everything is illustrated with gorgeous, clear, vivid photos for each written step along the way. It is a gorgeous book with unique, creative designs and crisp, clear instructions. One of MY FAVORITES!

perfectly used ^.^
Although the first week or so I was not provided shipping information, I am beyond pleased! I've learned everything I know off youtube and imagination. This book provides so much more then I expected I simply cannot decide where to start first. The detail in every page is wonderful. I feel much more confident thanks to this purchase! Plus I purchased used and still received a perfect copy ^.^ totally worth it and a must have ^.^

Great techniques, but lacking in necklace design.
This book shows a lot of great techniques to incorporate into your piece. The example projects for the earrings are the best, bracelets are ok, and there are only 3 necklace project examples in the book. All of the necklaces are very ugly, so for that reason alone, I am a little disappointed with the book. Because the techniques shown in the book are great to incorporate into your own designs i'll still give it 4 stars and still consider it worth the money spent.

Helpful book
I'm pleased to have purchased this well-illustrated book that provides such helpful details about making wire jewelry. I love the comprehensive information about what one needs to do wire work. The design suggestions are varied and attractive. I appreciated the varied skill levels offered in the designs, as well. Beginners, intermediate and advanced people could all find use for this text.

If this were the last jewelry making book on earth...MARRY IT!
Everything about this book is superior to anything else out there. Have you ever had trouble following step-by-step pictures when learning a new wire working technique? You won't have that problem with this amazing book. The photographs capture exactly what you need to do, with the best angles and shots I have seen in a wire working book. There will be no guess work. The projects start gradual and lead to the "showstopper" piece, incorporating all of the techniques that Ms Miller has been teaching throughout the book. If you take one thing from my review, let it be this: just because the showstopper piece is on the cover of the book, does not mean that the rest of the projects are unworthy! You will want to make all of the earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. The name of the book captures the essence of the projects, because they are all works of art, with a unique, quirky, romantic flair. Don't forget to watch the video. Ms. Miller will make you feel like you are taking a personal class with her. I guarantee you will be on a new level of inspiration after watching the video.

big & bold
This is the third Sharilyn Miller book I have. This one is by far the best. A great deal of the book is taken up by 'how to' info but this is entirely necessary given the following projects. I'm a little bit disapointed that there are so many earring projects and only a few necklaces but that's just my preference. All the items made are big and bold and you have the option to use liver of sulphur to age your items. I fully understand that some people cannot see the sense in ageing their jewellery but in my opinion it does seem to give some jewllery a certain 'depth'. I also love the DVD which is included with the book, it's very interesting as Sharilyn shows how to do certain techniques used in the book. I particularly like the worm beads she makes. Sharilyn is not at all how I imagined her but she is fascinating to watch (her fake finger nails are incredible for a jewellery maker). In the DVD you can see just how the items will look and they are certainly more big and bold than anything else she has done. As usual the step by step instructions are very clear and all the projects are open to interpretation. My only concern is how Sharilyn manages to work with such large gauge wire as in my experience it's very hard on the hands and fingers. I haven't given this 5 stars simply because I prefer making necklaces instead of earrings.

Not as good as bead on a wire
I waited a long time to buy this book because I loved Bead on a Wire so much. Eventually I was too intrigued by the idea of the DVD and gave in.This is not a bad book or DVD - it just isn't as good as Bead on a Wire.In its favour, the DVD is clear and informative and it does help to see the artist at work. The designs are typical of the designer's style and use quality wire, often silver, and semi-precious stones. Each element, once learned, builds to a cracking 'statement necklace' at the end, so it feels like a proper 'course'.The points against it, however, negate most of the 'pros'.The DVD only shows the techniques, not the designs themselves e.g. coils but not earrings. I would have liked to have seen the process right through from start to finsih. The designs are all very 'samey' - mainly a turquoise and silver or garnet and pearl combo. I think a book on wire should acknowledge different tastes and pockets - there's no coloured plated wire on show, for example. Finally, the fact that each step works towards one statement piece makes it feel a bit brief. There is only really one type of earring wire, two decorative headpins, one clasp and so on. Only necklaces, earrings and bracelets are shown. Bead on a Wire showed a lot of different earring styles and included pendant bails, fibulas and so forth. In summary, this is nice set and very good value. It would make a great first foray into wirework. If I had seen it first, I would have loved it more. However, if you are only going to buy one book on the subject, buy Bead on a Wire instead.

Very good but not for beginners
I really like this book. It provides some good inspiration and clear techniques. It's not a beginner book. (For that I would recommend the books by Linda Jones) but if you have mastered the basics this give some great ideas to take you to the next level, mostly focussing on twisted and coiled beads. The DVD is clear and interesting too, although you might want to fast forward some of the wire coiling bits. I didn't mind the fact that most of the projects are earrings because I can see how I can adapt those ideas for bracelets and necklaces too. It had me digging out my wire stock and having a go straight away.
