Introspective (2018

I had originally planned to buy the newly remastered 2018 version of this album on CD as part of the Further Listening range. I had already the previously remastered 2001 version, but according to the reviews the advancement in remastering techniques meant the 2018 remastering Has noticeably improved sound quality compared to the one from 17 years earlier and even more so when compared to the original 1998 release.However, having read how impressed reviewers In the music press and here on Amazon were with the 180 gram vinyl release, I decided to splash some extra cash and see if they were right, and I have to say I think they are.Played on my Denon DP-450USB turntable via a Denon RCD-M41DAB connected to the SC-M41 speakers specifically designed for this system, the sound has a much richer sound and vibrancy compared to listening to the CD releases. The bass has a lot more punch to it, and I picked up subtle nuisances I had previously missed, despite having listened to this album countless times.If you are a fan of the Boys, and of this album in particular, then treat yourself to the vinyl version, it really is worth the extra cash. It may lack the bonus tracks found on the CD release, but they are available as downloads or on streaming platforms after all.

This took me back to the first time when I had it on cassette. Still a cool album by a cool group. Timeless and worth introducing any music lover of any genre to.Sounded great on vinyl too. No faults here!

Disclaimer: this is probably my favourite album of all time. Since I first put the cassette into my Aiwa walkman in 1988 while wandering around the school playing fields I've never gone more than a few weeks without listening to it. So it goes without saying that this is a five star review. It's artistically faultless. So... I thought it might be useful to say something about the remaster. I have about six different versions of this album, which was always the best mastered PSB album in my opinion. This version is punchier and more dynamic than my other versions - even the Japanese LP which is spectacularly good. There's no background noise, the stereo placement is rock solid. The drum machines at the start of I Want a Dog hit hard and the vocals on LTMOD soar. If you like this album even a tenth as much as I do and you have a decent turntable then buy it.

I have had the CD for years and know the tunes well but on Vinyl it gives more power and disco beat to the analogue genre which very much complements this series or rereleases from PSB plus all there latest offerings including there latest release all now available on HQ Vinyl-there's even some humble pre-recorded tapes too!

The remaster of the amazing Introspective album is stunning. There are more detailed reviews if you want to read more in depth. But just to say my copy on vinyl sounds amazing.

Yes, the album is probably their best, but this vinyl pressing is the star, huge dynamics and punch.

My first record in casette in summer 88-89. i can not make any regret about it. it is perfect. Love all those 12 inch versions. Domino dancing version, all the songs are incredible. A couple of days ago i realized that almost each song have different producer and you can not notice the difference.From piano in I want a dog to It's alright, going through latin and techno sounds in domino dancing.

Top album by a top group, and so good to have a brand new vinyl. Sounds amazing.
