Was what I expected

My daughter likes to take a big, insulated mug of ice water on her commute to work everyday. She has an car where the cup holder are smaller, but had a mug that tapered so it was okay. Then she was gifted a prettier mugnand it has a handle, so she likes it much better, except it won't fit in her car holder. She was just putting it on her seat and holding it in place with her purse or something (and it's just water so it isn't like she is going to get burned or stain something if it spilled.) Still it isn't ideal.I looked at expanders before and they just sat inside the holder with nothing holding them in place, so I never got one. Then I saw this with the little twist out grabbers on the base and really liked the concept.You just spin the bottom to gradually protrude the little arms. The more you turn, the further they go out, so if you have a bigger (but not big enough!) cup holder, it will still work. I don't know if I would call it "universal" as there are so many sizes of holders and mugs, but it made her small (just a little bigger than a soda can) holder big enough for a large, tapered mug. And it has a slot for the handle! I would check the dimensions if you have an especially small holder or a very large mug. It still isn't technically attached, but the rubber tips on the little arms hold it pretty snugly in the cars holder.Now they need to make one with a tray on top for food! (I would adore one of those to hold my popcorn bucket in the movies' cup holder!!)

A warning to my wife. If you've come across this review before Christmas, please avert your eyes now as it contains the image a gift I got for you. With that out of the way, let me say that I actually invented this product. I was 16 at the time (50 now) and my prototype was made of wood. So I saw a need for this extended cup holder ages ago. Believe it or not, I never knew that it existed until now. I'll sue for royalties later! : )Anyway, I'm so happy to see that I wasn't alone in recognizing how great the need is for this product. As you can see in my image, the 12 oz. Hydro Flask coffee tumbler (the one with the handle) fits this cup holder as if it was made for it. I haven't tried it out in my wife's Honda yet, but it fit inside the cupholder of my Scion perfectly. So I'm confident it will be the perfect gift for my wife, who prefers tumblers with handles, and who has not been able to travel to and from work with one. Big thanks to Enovoe for adding this awesome product to their roster!

Love this easy to install unit. Our rear cushion holder in tiny and practically unusable so this is such a nice enhancement. The notch is wide-enough for any travel mug handle we might use, but we really like that restaurant to-go cups fit great. The soft tabs give decent stability to smaller cups, but not necessarily enough for very bumpy roads. We can fit our 32 ounce insulated bottles in this which is exactly what I had hoped. It is easy to twist the unit to get the bars to widen and fit more snugly into the molded vehicle cup, but you’ll want to play with it a few times because the non-slip material means it wont slide in (or out) easily. I had to make a few adjustments to get the bars wide enough to fit snug, but not so wide it couldn’t get pushed into place. So worth it, tho; now the tiny cup-holder is more universal and actually useful.
