Above expectation backup/dashcam system
I have been looking for a dash cam when I found this system that uses rear view mirror as monitor for both the backup camera and dashcam. I found many Auto-Vox systems with good reviews and I decided to purchase when it came with a promotional discount at Amazon. Everything that I required for installation came in a well packed box. The rear view mirror is well made, the cables and all the accessories are made with good quality materials. It took me almost 3 hours to complete the entire installation not including several YouTube research for my car specific installation such as how to find the right fuses to power the unit. These are the outstanding features: 1. Replacing the rear view mirror is a breeze. May be it's the car that I have and I do not even have to use any of the supplied adapters. 2. After connecting the cables to the correct fuses, the unit is ready to use and only require minimum setup such as adjusting timezone, time and date. 3. The video output is vibrant and has good color contrast. 4. Both rear view camera and dashcam are wide enough without having distorted image. 5. The rear view mirror when the monitor is not on is really good, bigger than the original factory rear view mirror. What can be improved: 1. Night video, I think this is common for camera system, glare. Incoming car light or brake light are glaring but not too bad that cars are still distinguishable. 2. Backup camera is not as wide as I would like but may be to avoid distorted image (fish-eyed) 3. Dash camera cable is too long. 4. Cable clips to hold cable from the rear view mirror are not provided 5. Manual should come with color images to help with installation. 6. Fuse Tap cables should come with 2 different colors to match the power cables. I do not know how good the system to detect collision and what kind of recording that it does when the car is turned off. Overall, I am very satisfied with the system. It's a solid system, the design, the material looks solid and refined. 1 week later: I was reviewing the recording on the micro SD card. This unit created 3 different folders on the memory card, 1 folder for normal recording for both front and rear cameras, 1 folder for emergency recording where it will not be erased or written over, also for both front and rear cameras, and 1 folder for photos for manually triggered photo capture. You can play the recording on the rear view mirror or computer using the normal video player app. But if you want to see the speed and direction information, you will need to install the software that you need to download (info on the manual) I made a small mistake by not pressing the connector completely during installation of the GPS sensor that cause the recording not having the car movement information. The customer service responded promptly and helped resolve the issue

AUTO-VOX T9PRO OEM Rear View Mirror Camera Dash Cam
Installed on a Leisure Travel Van Wonder (Ford Transit Cutaway 178โ WB, HD). Iโm impressed. The final result was worth the effort. It looks like it came from the factory only better because itโs a dash cam and not just a mirror. (The factory installed mirror only reflected the inside of the van because there is no rear window - only what looks like a window from the outside.) Useless. The installation in the cab was typical. The power was derived from the fuse box from behind the panel below the steering wheel. The Ford uses Micro Fuses so I needed to buy Micro2 Fuse Taps. (Iโm sure AUTO-VOX would supply the fuse taps you need if you ask, but they are inexpensive and readily available.) There are a number of empty fuse locations in the Transit and I used one that had power constantly and another powered only when the ignition was turned to the ACC position. I removed the left โAโ pillar trim pieces to hide the wires from the mirror to the fuse box below the dash. The cables were tucked from the mirror display into the headliner to the โAโ pillar and down to under the dash. The GPS wire was run between the fiberglass top and the steel ford top and placed on top of the insulation separating the two. The video cable was run from where the power lead entered below the dash area for power, down along the door gasket to under the plastic covering the step well and through a convenient body plug located at the rear inside corner of the step well leading to the under carriage. Then the cable was run along the left and supported on the chassis bolts attaching the camper all the way to the rear. There is a space between the rear cargo area (the โGarageโ) and the back of the van. I drilled a hole near the bottom of the fake rear window and mounted the camera there. (A flush mount camera would look better & I tried a 1080P flush mount camera, but the picture quality was noticeably inferior to that supplied by the AUTO-VOX camera.) In fact, the image quality of the AUTO-VOX camera is one of the best I have seen. (I do wish they made a comparable flush mount camera.) HOWEVER, after installation was complete, the unit would not format the Micro SD card. It was a 128gb card so I tried a second 64gb card with the same result. So I again contacted AUTO-VOX technical support via email. After trying a third card (a SAMSUNG PRO Endurance 64GB MicroSDXC Memory Card - recommended by AUTO-VOX) and it still failed, they sent me a new unit - it arrived the next day!!! (BTW, the new display mirror formatted all 3 cards successfully). I think this unit is a great addition to our camper van and of course it makes driving safer. Kudos to AUTO-VOX technical support. Even though I only contacted them via email (they are in Beijing), they were very, very responsive. From sending me a new mirror mount adapter to sending me an extension video cable at no charge! (I didnโt even ask!) Shout out to them for their great support, particularly Sasa and Gigi. Even when I had the settings wrong and the mirror only worked for 30 seconds at a time, Gigi kindly told me the settings to change (they were the default settings, so I must have changed them). I would highly recommend the AUTO-VOX T9PRO, especially to Ford Transit owners. It looks like it came from the factory but probably has a better picture from what Iโve read. I wouldnโt really know that unless I could compare them. There is a post by a user that has a Ford Transit High Roof and he explained how to modify the Rear View Mirror Cover Cap Trim behind the mirror for the wires to fit (very easy with a dremel tool). The quality of this system is high and the components are above grade. The picture quality I see in the mirror is excellent. I have reviewed the recordings on my PC and they are very clear. Hopefully this unit will last a few years. If it does fail, Iโll replace it with the same one if available. Oh, and did I mention the technical support is outstanding! ๐

replacing older rearview suction mount cam with T9pro
Son had a AUTO-VOX CS-2 Wireless Backup Camera since 2020 and we decided to upgrade to the T9Pro by AUTO-VOX. Just finished the install over Christmas break from college. Very impressed with the overall ease of installation and feel/quality of the product. Took just over an hour for my son and I to install in his 2006 Mercedes CLS500. The instructions for connection of the 3 wires to fuse box/ground are simple and basic enough to understand. Plus they give you everything needed to connect them to fuse box. Also the rear view mirror fit on the current mirror bracket so another plus. But they gave adapters in case it didn't fit directly on. I thought the longest or hardest part was concealing the wires since the CLS500 is a sportier tight fitting Mercedes with not much room to maneuver around to easily. But since he has multiple fuse boxes in the car in different places made it easier. Love that it has both front cam and rear view since my son commutes from off campus and as a parent you always worry about their safety. Also worried about college kids or people breaking into car to steal the other dash mounted backup camera, so he would always try to hide it. Now since this looks OEM and replaces rearview mirror nobody can tell its not original to the car. Picture Quality is as good or better than our previous camera according to my son. He says night time vision is better on the new unit and the touchscreen and anti-glare are added benefits. He definitely loves his new gift and the upgrade. I love the gps sensor, recording capabilities, and 24hr parking monitor. Glad I stuck with auto-vox again! Writing this at night and he isn't home to take pictures. Will try to update with pics.

Great customer service! And a good front/rear "dash" cam too.
Great customer service! And a good front/rear "dash" cam too. I bought this over the wolf brand, for several reasons and was a bit dissapointed when I noticed it didn't have 'swipe' options like the other brand. But I'm please with what it does for me, and that it actually works VERY well. I swapped the rear mount and camera, for one that was more flush and at the correct angle. Verified the pin out and tech was the same and tested a few to get the right one. Even with the newer camera, I still get the hard to see rearview at night due to headlight glare. I got that glare with the Autovox camera too. I just live with it, or turn the mirror to a 'drive mode' at night anyway (too bright and lights up the cab, even at the lowest setting or in auto mode). I noticed the glare is an issue with most all cameras at night from vehicle headlights. Otherwise, it's perfect during the day and other times of use. The forward camera is awesome. But I don't have the mirror in that mode... ever. I only do every now and again to check to make sure it's aligned as I've hit it and knocked it out of alighnment when cleaning the inside of the front windshield. It works great for capturing and recording as needed. I noticed when I hit the 'lock' for a recording, it only captures from that button push time. It doesn't go back say 1-3 minutes before the button push. So that is a problem. If you're driving and need to capture video due to an incident, it won't get the incident by the time you get to the button on the LCD and push "lock". It needs to capture the minutes before the button push to be worthwhile. I've only tested this once or twice when a vehicle pulled in front of me, and it was when I first installed the mirror. I've yet to test it since. I had an issue where the mirror wouldn't turn off. I'd get out of the vehicle and walk away. Noticing that 1hr, 2hrs, or even 6hrs later to see it still ON when walking by the vehicle at night. It was draining my battery. I emailed Autovox, and "Gigi" replied fairly quickly. After some troubleshooting they had me upload new firmware, and it corrected the issue. They said if it didn't, they'd replace it. That was top notch customer service. For that alone, I give them 5-stars as most chinese companies will just shrug their shoulders and let you go buy something else. You need to know, I'm overly meticulous and very detail oriented. Also an old I.T. guy so still very techy. I'm demanding of my purchases, so I'm not sure if my "issues" will be your issues. So take my review with a grain of salt. You can't go wrong with Autovox and this mirror solution as it's very nice and works as it should.

Fails to turn on less than a month after purchase
I originally bought the T9 rear view mirror and it maybe lasted a week. I thought maybe it was something I did or possibly bad connections so I redid the whole setup. The problem is the mirror simply fails to turn on at all. So then I purchased the T9 โPROโ to replace the original faulty T9. It lasted less than a month. I tried getting a hold of tech support and itโs like talking to a wall. For the price theyโre charging for these mirrors, you think theyโd last a little bit. I also figured out that Iโm not the only one thatโs had this issue. Itโs a common thing with the T9 rear view mirrors.

Great Rear Camera, Average Front Camera
Pros: The daytime view is really good, and the rear camera handles changing light surprisingly well. I like that you can turn the screen off and use it like a normal mirror when you want, which is great since my car is usually packed and the standard rearview mirror isnโt very useful. Being able to switch back and forth is a big plus. The rear camera cable was also plenty long and easily reached the back without any extensions. Cons: The front camera is a bit disappointing. Itโs noticeably grainy, especially compared to the rear camera, and doesnโt feel like it matches the quality youโd expect at this price point. The touchscreen can also have a mind of its own and sometimes starts up with the screen off even when it was on when turning off the car. Other Thoughts: I mounted the rear camera inside using the LUAATT rear camera mount for my Toyota 4Runner, which worked well, but Iโm considering moving it to an exterior rear mount (spolier). The video quality, especially in low-light situations, seems like it would be much better outside. Overall, itโs a solid setup with a great rear camera, but the front camera could definitely be improved. Wireless transfer would also be a great option too. I'll post more photos and videos once I use it even more. Since my back window rolls down, I can test the view with and without the back window in the way. UPDATE: 3/2/2026 I have learned to love this mirror a lot more. It definitely took some time to get used to and rarely have it on full-time, I tend to leave it in Screen Saver mode and just tap it when I need it or when I shift into reverse, it automatically turns on. I decided to mount it outside of the car because of the tint on my back windows and the lines from the defrosters annoyed me. Added some new photos and it performs well even in Foggy and Rainy conditions.

Well Made, Refined, OEM look multi functions
The dashcam and back up camera use the rear view mirror as the LCD monitor. The unit also has the GPS antenna and micro SD slot as memory. This is the 2nd unit that I bought from Auto-Vox.I have the first back-up camera unit for almost 5 years that is still functioning well and thatโs the reason I decided to purchase this new dashcam/back up camera system for my other car. The unit is packed well with 2 camera units, rear view mirror and all the required accessories. The rear view mirror is nicely built, with good material that does not look cheap at all. All the cables also have good quality insulations and connectors. For installation, I suggest that you search YouTube as you might find examples of how to connect the power cable to the fuse box in your specific car. The unit can only be hardwired, not like my other unit that is powered using the cigarette lighter plug. Once the power is connected, the rest of the installation, for me, was not too difficult. Expect 2 to 3 hours depending on how detail you want to hide all the cables. Once powered up, you need to adjust the timezone, time and date, and also the unit of measure as it uses km/h as default instead of mph. Image looks really sharp and with vibrant color during daytime. Camera coverage, both dash cam and backup camera, are wide enough but not as wide as the backup camera that comes with the car, so I will still rely on the original backup camera for additional coverage. Night time image is fair, glare from the incoming car or brake lights prevents any details such as license plate to be readable on the monitor, but color and image quality is acceptable with little noise or grain. The rear view mirror quality is good, when it is not functioning as a monitor, it becomes an upgraded rear view mirror compared to the factory rear view mirror and you are not going to notice that it is a monitor. It takes approximately 10 seconds for the unit to turn on when you start the car before it shows the image. Overall, I am satisfied with the unit performance and the purchase.

Its just barely "OK". Lacks common features and settings that others have.
its "OK" at best in my opinion. The main reason for choosing this is due to the very limited options available for a complete standalone dashcam mirror (we did not want to use the type that simply straps on the existing mirror). the Pros: Installation was straight forward and everything worked once installed. simple to use and configure. Front camera picture quality is decent. the Cons: Video retrieval. Its my fault for not noticing this doesn't have an app or wifi to allow you to pull or manage stored videos easily from your phone. No, you have to physically pull the SD card, bring it to your computer, and distribute videos that way. Absolutely Insane for something being sold in 2025, my last dashcam I bought 8 years ago had the app and wifi, so i figured that's what they all had by now. I also noticed the manual mentions some "video player" they want you to download to be able to play video files with your computer...haven't opened that can of worms yet, but it just seems odd to me. Hopefully the video files this thing creates also works on common video player software as well so they can easily be shared and played by insurance, law enforcement, etc. the rear camera is useless at night if you have tint...I cant blame them fully because sure, the tint will effect its ability to see. Whats annoying is the insane amount of video noise on the display when there isnt much light. Instead of the screen displaying a smooth dark image, it has a heavy overlay of blueish, purple static. Even with the brightness to its lowest setting, its visible enough to be annoying.( btw, brightness is the ONLY display setting available. No contrast or anything else) We probably wont even use the constant rear display for this reason, and instead have the display turned off. This thing is on its final strike. If there's any other issue that crops up, I'm willing to undo the 2+ hours of installation to get my money back, because at this point its hardly worth it.

Exceeded my expectations!
Crystal clear backup camera with an impressive wide angle! Most important for my application, the T9PRO allows for a quick finger swipe permitting the video feed to pan down for easy docking of a trailer or backing up in extremely tight spots. This feature is dependent on the mounting angle so plan before finalizing that rear camera location. Another well thought-out feature is the two second hold of the screen which turns off the video display. Not particularly important when driving in the city but incredibly useful when navigating dark lit roads especially in foul weather. With the mirror set to driving mode, vehicle speed is displayed after a few seconds along with a compass which adds to the overall OEM appearance. The mirror arrived quickly and very well packaged which might be trivial to some, but to me this is just one less thing to worry about. With its versatile backup camera and front and rear video recording, the T9PRO checks all the right boxes and has exceeded my expectations.

Disappointed in Auto- Vox
Absolute rubbish keeps going faulty asking for sd card when there is one in, but it will format it, I've tried resetting it to no success. Very little information on warranty and who is going to pay for it to be taken out for return and refit new one if I could find the info on warranty..

Great Rear-view Camera! Great Customer Support!
Great rear-view camera. Customer support the best!!! I'll admit it. At 75-years old, I'm a "geezer". I don't read instructions very well. And I don't follow them very well either. That's why I had this excellent rear-view camera system installed on my 2006 Lexus -- which did not come with a back-up camera back then -- installed by a professional. It took 6 email exchanges with Gigi -- an Auto-Vox Customer Support Specialist -- before I understood the settings for this system. I read the instructions that came in the package. But, I just couldn't get the camera to do what I wanted it to do. That was before Gigi came to my rescue. Over the course of 3-days and 6 emails -- she patiently solved each problem I experienced -- with simple solutions and advice. And now, my Auto-Vox T9Pros is working flawlessly. I am 100% in favour of this modern system. And I "support" Auto-Vox's excellent support team. It's the best.
