My Husband Loves This Meat Tendorizer!
We are looking forward to using this in ernest come spring! We are hoping for better results with this meat tenderizer than we have had with the other ones!

Better than the one I have
It has two sides to utilize. One side is your classic looking mallet, the other has sharp blades behind a seemingly innocuous plastic plate. This is the side that is intriguing. The plate does not come off, it retracts as you smack whatever you are using it on. The mallet is balanced and feels good in your hand. I have not put it in the dishwasher due the wooden handle. I also wonder how clean the side with the plate would ever get if cleaned in the dishwasher. I would suspect the water would just collect in it. I wash it by hand, carefully pushing back the plate and cleaning the sharp "spikes" with a narrow brush. Overall, it's a neat mallet and does the job at hand.

Gets the job done
I’ve had steak that was so tender and was told it was a less expensive cut and all I needed was a meat tenderizer. I had the flat hammer type but it just flattened the meat, it didn’t get me to a tender cut of meat. With its 36 ultra sharp needle blades this meat tenderizer breakers through the fibers leaving you with an easy to chew cut of meat. I also put my spices on prior to tenderizing which pushes the flavor into the meat.This is a 2 in 1 tool. Opposite the meet tenderizer hammer is the meat mallet so there is no reason to store 2 separate tools. Ideal for Chicken, Beef Pork and even cracking nuts.This tool is made of stainless steal and has a rosewood handle that is both attractive and ergonomic.

Pretty Good
It a pretty interesting tenderizer. It does work they way it says, and has no issues puncturing through meat. Although, for me, I just hold it at the top and press it into the meat, as opposed to swinging it like a hammer if that makes sense. The blades are plenty sharp to puncture the meat easily.Cleanup might be difficult, depending on how much material gets caught between the blades. I pre cleaned mine in the sink before tossing it in the dishwasher, and it came out fine. I do worry about the long term survivability of this guy in terms of being dishwasher safe, as they say. The wood handle and little leather tether likely will be damaged if put in the dishwasher frequently. This is the biggest issue I foresee.The next concern I have is the durability. It feels just okay, in terms of how solid it is. If you are going to really bang this thing, I would worry how long it will last. Every time I hit something, you hear the springs from the retractable guard vibrating. It is only a matter of time, I imagine.
