The Conspiracy to Destroy Black Women
M**E
Straightforward and factual. A MUST READ for BLACK WOMEN!
As a black woman myself, I consider this a necessary read for all black women. But especially for my darker skinned sisters. While racism effects all black women and even other ethnic "minorities" (because we as POC outnumber caucasians globally) , the colorism within racism effects you more, dark skinned sister. Please read this with your Mom, Aunts, cousins, nieces, sisters, etc. ALL black women need to know that we aren't just the sterotypical angry "black women".... We were uneducated and couldn't put words to our trauma, oppression, and abuse because we are so used to culturally "sweeping it under the rug". We weren't allowed to talk about and heal the generational rape, the pedophilia, kidnapping, misogyny, the patriarchal belief that women are weak prey, the medical experimentation and policing of our bodies, plus more that still overtly happens to this day. This in effect does cause anger within us, because of how society and even at times our own men dismiss our oppression and our need to heal, and even sometimes lend a hand in it if they are mentally "whitewashed". Read the book. While I am one that would have loved a bit more history, Michael does a wonderful job of giving you a brief, but straighforward history of the political policies put in place and its effect on us.

A must read!
I truly enjoyed this very thought provoking work! I think everyone should read this book to understand the seriousness of the state we are in here in the USA and worldwide. The only thing I was a bit displeased by is the fact that all the blame is placed on white supremacy systems and the responsibility to save the world is placed on the shoulders of women as if men have no real fault and responsibility in this fight. Other than that, I will be suggesting this book to everyone I know.

This gentleman really tells some inconvenient truths. Bless him.
Hard-hitting facts and inconvenient truths are what you will find in this book. Every black woman should have this book in her library. I am so glad to see that one of our 'black brothers' wrote this. This guy really 'gets it'. I found myself agreeing with a lot of what he was saying and saying 'tell it!' and 'preach it!' as I read. I also did a LOT of underlining in my book. Needless to say, I could not put it down. I very definitely recommend this book.

If you've been around the block a few times already ...
If you've been around the block a few times already, as a black woman, this book is no revelation. Repetitive and the author seems to blame all on white male supremacy, assumes there is a supportive black sisterhood and absolves white females of any collusion in 'white supremacy'. Written twenty years ago, it is a little dated now. But it still holds a few gems as a reminder of how there are systematic obstacles in place to keep woc down. A worthwhile read for a young woc starting out in life or career.
