Silhouette Electrostatic Mat for Cameo 5 / Plus, 12” x 12” - White

After tearing a piece of cardstock off of the cutting mat that came with my Cameo, I decided to make the investment in this accessory. It is great for cutting paper and light cardstock. I have since acquired a set of cutting mats with different adhesion strengths, but I still prefer the ES feeder over these. I am confident that my piece will come away cleanly. And a bonus is that it is self weeding. Just lift the piece off and the pieces you would weed stay on the clear mat and are easily thrown away.

Do not turn away from your cut. The ES mat turns off every 30 seconds or so during a cut. My print and cut with registration marks was slightly off. It has potential to be a fantastic product, but it needs work. I love my Silhouette, but they need to work out the bugs.

I just switched cutting machines from Cricut to Cameo 5 because I needed more control over my cuts. This Electrostatic mat was promoted at an accessory and after watching a demo video I decided to buy it because of the issue of stickers and card stock getting bent trying to get them off the adhesive mats. I wish I had known just how new this tech is. Aside from a few pictures on a box flap the the ES Mat doesn't come with any printed directions on how to attatch it and start using it. The Sihlouette website doesn't even list it in the Sihlouette 101 section. I had to do a search and found a You Tube video on how to set it up in more detail. Once I got it set up and turned on it very quickly had a tight grip on my cardstock. I was excited to get to cutting. According to that video the ES mat should load into the machine just like the regular cut mat, push the EX mat right up to the rollers then hit the load button and the machine does the rest. This where I ran into a major problem, the rollers didn't grab onto the ES mat. I have tried numerous times. I have done a lot of searching for answers online. It comes down to that the technology is so new that there really isn't any useful info on how to trouble shoot this. This ES mat has a lot of potential but it needs work.

I had mixed expectations for this add on from Silhouette but I’ve used it on all types of paper, vinyl and it’s really a game changer!

So far, I have only used this for 61# heavy matte photo paper but it worked amazingly well. I cut a lot of this paper and it is wonderful not to have to peel pieces off a sticky mat. Great product.

SOLUTION: You have to place something heavy right st the end and pushing on the mat towards the machine because the machine wobbles as it works and that weakens the connection between it and the mat. I pushed my heavy sewing machine right against the mat and towards my silhouette cameo and the problem vanished. *** My electrostatic mat keeps shutting off for no apparent reason. Sometimes this occurs when it's idle, but it also happens multiple times during cut jobs. Yes, I'm using the original power cables for the Cameo 5, and yes, it's properly connected. SilhouetteAmerica is extremely slow at responding to me. It's better to buy from Amazon, where they at least allow returns and repurchases within 30 days.

Es una excelente herramienta si quieres cortar papel, cartulina o vinil adhesivo. No la.he probado con otros materiales. Pero para lo que la necesito me funciona muy bien.

J'adore ! J'ai découpé du papier 120 gr sur le tapis électrostatique avec ma Caméo 5a. Vraiment super l'électricité statique pour maintenir le papier ! J'ai longtemps hésité compte tenu du prix du tapis, mais je ne suis pas déçue
