Shed Chic: Outdoor Buildings for Work, Rest, and Play Hardcover – April 28, 2009

This is in my opinion a great 'must have' for anyone contemplating using a shed for purposes other than just a plain old shed. I am in the process upgrading the shed that has been my office/studio for several years now. I have picked up on many ideas from this book and my office/studio is becoming an elegant hideaway. It is the way to go for writers or anyone working with the arts and having no extra room in their homes. Besides, it is a place to hide out, to be left alone to create. It's well written and well illustrated. Like I said, it's a must have.Vi Jones

I was concerned about spending so much money for just one book, but it has lived up to the recommendations of other readers. I love sheds! And I love Shed Chic. The book covers lots of different outdoor buildings, not just shabby chic sheds. I was not looking for a how to book, but for inspiration. This book is loaded with ideas that will make my shed special as well as many ideas that could be used for my small house. Two thumbs up!

If you get your inspiration from visual representation, then this book is for you.A picture is worth a thousand words, and this book provides wonderful pictures (several hundred) of all types of small building, sheds, etc..Both interiors and exteriors.Face it, sheds are simple construction items, so the help is needed in the details and this book is amazing.10 Stars....

The book "Shedworking" is primarily about garden offices. In addition to garden offices, this book is full of great ideas for all of the other uses of garden buildings, from private spas and quiet backyard living rooms to potting sheds. It is also a great book for design ideas no matter what the intended use of the garden building.

I bought this used for not much money but it's a wonderful book! So many fun little she shed idea's!

This book was for my girlfriend who is in the process of converting a storage building into a dream getaway place, and found this book to be more than helpful with ideas. I so enjoy showering her with gifts and she enjoyed this one eminently.

Cool photos, ideas for backyard structures. Beautify America! How many characters required for a review??? I believe when we run out of things to say we should be allowed to stop talking, but that's just me.

This is the second book I have by this author and I was not sure if it would be the same information with repeat pictures, but it is entirely different and I am so happy with it! I adore the various styles offered as inspiration. The fact that it is a Country Living book gives me full confidence in the advice. :-)

Love, love, love this book. I wasn't looking for a how-to on how to build a shed or turn it into an office, I merely wanted pretty pictures and loads of inspiration, and that's exactly what this book offers. Lots of lovely pictures and full of good ideas, many of which I've used in my own little cabin in the woods.

A beautifully put together book that we bought as a present for my Mum, who loves her garden. It is a real feel good about your garden and shed book - covers numerous themes, from the practical to the ridiculous pool type room/shed, but all are lovely to look at a dream about! Some lovely children shed/playhouse ideas too.Quite an inspiration!

wonderful and inspiring,all i need to do now is save for the shed that can let me escape from the daily routine,mine will be the sea side theme, as i love the sea but live miles from it,it will be my own little beach hut in the scottish countryside

From the look of the cover, thought there would be a lot more rustic type sheds and outdoor rooms. Some nice photographs, but not as useful as I thought it would be. Nice book for the coffee table though!
