Well, when my vintage 31 day wind up clock mechanism finally brkoe, it would have taken over $100 to get it fixed. NOPE! I did my research and of all the battery operated clock mechanisms with a pendulum, this one stood out. After I removed my old gear driven mechanism with about 6 small screws, I was able to install the new movement in less than 5 minutes. My clock face is very thing, but I just added a quarter in thick "backer" of cardboard and the shart was a perfect fit. They give you several hands to install and it made for a perfect repair. I popped in a new lithium battery for long iife, hooked the pendulum to the swing mechanism and voila, a perfectly silent newe clock that keeps perfect time (I did a 24 hour check and it was right on the money. A great purchase and gave my vintage clock a new life.

The first one I ordered the pendulum did that swing. But they quickly remedied the problem and sent me a new one. It swings well and keeps perfect time! Good product for the price!

I chose this kit based on just eyeballing the mechanism that was in my dead clock. It had hands that closely matched mine in style and length. It only took about 10 minutes to fix the mechanism into place with the nut, press the hands on the shaft tubes, and fire it up. Be careful to get the hour and minute hands aligned exactly on 12 when you press them on, and them use the thumbwheel on the motor to rotate the hands all the way around until you are at 1 o'clock, to make sure the minute hand hits 12 just as the hour hand hits 1. Even after positioning them together on 12 you might be a little off and you'll see it after one rotation, so you can correct it. The pendulum was more of a problem. The long swing arm was about 1.5" too short and it did not look right. I was able to slide the pendulum disk off and get it onto my old arm, however, so it looks perfect now. NOTE: I could not use the whole original pendulum arm from my old clock. It hung right on the new motor and was positioned perfectly. But it was much heavier than the pendulum that comes with this kit - so heavy that the motor could not keep it going even after pushing it to one side to get it started. These pendulum clocks work by energizing an electromagnet one way and then the other on a timed pulse so as the arm swings near the center, the magnet pulls on it essentially giving it a push each time it swings by. But the arm was too heavy for this mechanism. Using my old arm with the new lighter disk worked fine. My only knock against it is that the pendulum arm and disk are definitely thinner and cheaper looking than the one on my old clock. It's not that the original was expensive. Inexpensive home appliances like this were made with stronger, thicker materials 20 years ago, and better still 20 years before that. This one is just the next in a line of ever-cheapening product quality. But at least it looks pretty good and it works.

Works great, has everything needed.

This is the 3rd unit I purchased of this model 12888 Pendulum Clock Movement. The first one, purchased about 6 months ago was working fine until yesterday. Now, it's losing time. The pendulum movement works, but the actual clock movement won't keep accurate time any longer. The other two units - the first one installed kept time for about a week, then stopped (clock movement). I returned that one for a replacement, and the 3rd one does not work either. In all units, the pendulum movement works fine (it's a separate function from the clock), but the actual time movement either fails after a period, or doesn't work at all. Really frustrated with this situation because I have two highly treasured clocks that I thought I had found a replacement clock movement for, and these units have failed each time. Very disappointed.

Amazing clock parts ad work very well

This came with everything I needed to mount to the clock face. Not all kits include the sheet metal piece that allows the clock to be hung from the mechanism. I returned a clock movement mechanism from a local store that didn't include that piece. I was going to use the "old" weathered arms, but I liked one of the arm sets from the kit. All great so far. But the pendulum movement just doesn't work on the clock movement sent to me. It seems to work at first push (inertia) but always stops swinging. As I'd rather have the clock working on the wall rather than work on replacement, I'm only whining here and didn't even attempt to return/replace it. Ao I've dropped the stars as a warning.

Time keeping is poor and it eats batteries

Das Uhrwerk wurde von Amazon.us angeboten, kam aber im Endeffekt aus Spanien. Daher war die Lieferzeit entsprechend lange, was ich aber nicht als schlimm empfand. Der Einbau erfolgte als Austausch eines defekten Uhrwerks und funktionierte einwandfrei. Das genaue Ausmessen des alten Uhrwerks hat sich bezahlt gemacht, sodass ich die richtige Einbaulänge gewählt hatte. Der Lieferumfang ist sehr groß. Die vielen Zeigerlängen sind jedoch sinnvoll, da jedes Ziffernblatt ja unterschiedliche Durchmesser haben kann. Das Einbauen der Zeigen sollte mit viel Fingerspitzengefühl geschehen. Vorher auf jeden Fall die gewünschten Zeiger korrekt ausrichten!
