For Beginners
This tool is small, easy to carry, and highly portable, making it great for small jobs. The gloves fit me perfectly. While this welder is not expensive and did not exceed any expectations, I did not set the bar high considering the price. It's perfect for learning and ideal for someone doing small jobs. This does not come with protection gear other than the gloves.

Outstanding Value Welding Machine Kit!
This feels like a good entry level kit for someone like me who wants to begin getting the tools and experience to do a bit of hobby welding. Of course this is a small, light duty welding machine, but the price is most definitely right. In my opinion, the small size is an advantage as it’s lightweight and doesn’t take up much space. The cords and clamps seem surprisingly durable. The accessories are a rather fair value for what you’re getting as a nice pair of gloves along with 20 welding rods come included in the box. There are still a few accessories that you will need. You must get a welding helmet as that’s probably the most important safety accessory! I also ordered a welding apron and a three pack of fireproof welding blankets. Finally, you’ll probably want to buy a welding cart to neatly stow all your gear. Other than those basics, I also ordered a welding practice kit that includes some steel pieces that could be welded together. You’ll absolutely want to begin on something that’s not vital and could be thrown away if necessary. You will only want to move onto actual repairs after getting the hang of it, but like anything else it all comes down to practice.Ultimately, this is a great starting point for first timers, anyone doing small repairs and projects, hobbyists, and the like. You’re getting a lot for only a $60 investment, which is more than fair in my opinion. I absolutely recommend this product for beginners or maybe even to keep as a spare, portable welding machine.

Impressive for its size
I was pleasantly surprised at how well this little arc welder worked…it came with everything needed to get started except a welding visor. From just a 120v source I was able to lay down a bead and weld two pieces of steel together. Did not try it with other sticks, but the ones provided worked well. I am amazed at how well it worked…

Pros and Cons but it did work for me.
Finally had an opportunity to test this little welder today. When I received it, I was quite surprised how small it is, it is literally the size of a lunchbox. The gloves that come with it aren't great, the leads seem a tad flimsy and the instructions are lacking. The power cord did seem beefy, so that was a plus. The leads connect quick and seem solid and honestly, it did weld, once I could get it to arc. But that took a bit. I would get just enough for the rod to stick, but then not arc any more. Took quite a few attempts for it to finally arc really well. Once it did, I was able to make the welds I needed.Based on my limited experience, I'm guessing the rods provided aren't very good. So I'll probably pick up another pack to give it another try.Again, all that to say, it did work for what I wanted. For a random job around the house a few times a year, I think it's perfect for that and priced right. I did go pick up a helmet so I'd be safe using it.My closing thoughts on this, if I had to do it again, I would consider buying the similar machine from your local harbor freight. Chances are the instructions are better and exchanges are likely much easier if you run into an issue.
