Havaianas Men's Urban Basic Flip Flops

These replaced a very old, and very well used, set of Havianas Brasil which had lasted so many years that their white rubber had started to yellow and crack from old age and use, and the ridged grip on the bottom has worn off in most places (they're actually still going, but I have become convinced they ought to die at some point soon).Good things about this model:- Wide fabric straps instead of thin rubber straps. This improves stability when walking, if you have a weird gait.- Still very comfortable. I didn't have any of the problems with the T-junction rubbing the top of my foot or anything like in other reviews here.- Appear well made and likely to last a long time. The sole, in particular, looks to be made of exactly the same high quality rubber as all Havaianas.- Much less than half the price of the Brasil, either when I bought my originals, or for new ones right now also on Amazon.Negatives about this model:- The sole is uniformly thick throughout, whereas the Brasil is thicker at the heel, thinner at the front. This makes walking in them more of a "flop flop" experience. Put it this way, I wouldn't walk for miles in these, whereas the Brasils could stretch to that (still not a patch on Gumbies for long distance walking through).- The shape (what is called "the last" in the trade) is more ugly than the Brasil. It's a touch wider, which is good given the wider straps, but the bottom and top just look less elegant when compared side by side. These are functional flip-flops, rather than "pretty" flip-flops.- The colour is uniform, drab, and boring. The Brasil just looks much nicer. But again, Gumbies look much nicer again than the Brasil.As you might guess, I use the Gumbies for mostly dry situations, and the Havaianas for mostly wet situations (Gumbies take 24h to fully dry in cold climates like mine, whereas the Havaianas are dry within minutes after a towel dry). For well less than half the price, this model of Havaiana is highly recommended in my opinion. Sure, it's not as good as the Brasil model, but it's close, and between one third and one half the price. For the £10 I paid for mine, I am very happy.

Love these flip flops, I'll never buy any other brand. I'll keep replacing them, this is my second pair from the first which lasted almost two years. Great product!

The product looks nice enough, but seems a bit ill-fitting. Not as snug, jus a bit loose.For the reasonable price, you are getting a leading brand, a fairly comfortable piece of footwear just not as fitted as you would expect.

Wider and more comfortable than the standard Havaianas. Upper cloth strap is broader than the rubber one on the standard ones so it does not leave the typical strap line in the top of your foot. Definitely my favourite open toed footwear now and I will probably get a second pair in a different colour.
